For the past 20 years, Zin has been a popular spot for locals in the downtown area. We offer crafted cocktails, brunch, and dinner. Six of us chose Zin for dinner before going to the night market. My husband and I shared the mussels with a coconut and lemongrass sauce. When it came, we sent it back thinking they had given us the wine white and leek sauce. The waitress quickly returned saying the kitchen confirmed it was the right sauce. It didn’t taste at all like it had coconut in it and it had an overpowering taste I didn’t like. And I found the mussels to be very difficult to get out of the shells. We then spilt the short rib pappardelle for our main. The pasta was over cooked and the sauce was not really to my taste either. I had had a very good lunch at Zin a couple of days previously, so I came back with friends, but I was disappointed. I could recommend it for lunch but not dinner.

Great service. Three course menu for $39 was a great value. Plenty of options. I enjoyed the mushroom soup, salmon, and lemon sorbet. Fried blue cheese olives were awesome and recommended a gin martini to go with them. Classy setting without being stuffy.

Dinner was excellent, I have been to Zin Bistro many times and have never been disappointed. Our server, Chip, was fantastic. Highly recommended.

We had a great spot for watching the Veterans Day parade, thus the loud noise rating. But we knew that! As always, food was delicious. Service was a little spotty but we weren’t in a hurry.

Our server was lovely… fun and playful. But 75 minutes for two entrees to come out, and the seafood pasta was cold, my date’s special (fish) was a bit overcooked. Pretty disappointing for a $200 meal. Nice space, great server, delicious Negronis, but we could have driven to East LA in the time it took our food to come out…

We had to wait a very long time after ordering to receive our meals. My fish was overcooked and dried out. The underlying broccoli was undercooked. And the wine (Merlot, by the glass) was the worst glass of wine I have ever had. I’m surprised they even would serve a wine that bad.
