Chinda & Cintara Kchao, both French continental chefs, are former owners of the acclaimed Lindochine restaurant in Oklahoma city. They moved to Norman, OK and purchased the Whispering Pines Inn with the goal of providing a fine dining experience within a comfortable and elegant bed and breakfast environment. The Whispering Pines restaurant prepares and serves only the finest in a wide variety of continental cuisines, with such exceptional touches as freshly baked bread and rich original soups, homemade palate-cleansing sorbet between courses. Let me save you $300($125 per person W/ one cocktail per person) My wife has been wanting to try this place so finally we did. Initially walking in, the ambiance was on life support. Once seated we were given the “fixed menu” which we were hoping wasn’t the case before arrival. The starter was a decent bisque, followed by a salad that neither I or my wife could choke down, a sorbet to cleanse the pallet. Main course was decent at best. Crazy to see other tables drown their food in salt or just not eat. Then, dessert, what seemed like store bought cheesecake and tiramisu that only got 1 bite taken out of it. The cocktails were, I guess cocktails, my wife and I got one a piece for dinner and weren’t finished by the time we left. Only way I could see myself coming back would be to get my $300 back, which I don’t think will happen. We have eaten at quite a bit of “Fancy” restaurants and I have spent $300-$400 on a dinner for us multiple times, but this experience absolutely was not worth it. I guess good luck if you choose to go here, and if it’s a fixed menu when you go my advice would be get up and walk out, and go back another time.

My husband I went there on the 15th of February. We did have reservations and were seated immediately. Our waitress was amazing, the service was excellent. My husband ordered. the seafood dish and I ordered the lamb. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection. The presentation with the potato roses were an added bonus. I would highly recommend this place

Went there for valentines day. They had a prix fix menu. When we got there there was a hair on the linen, although we were told the linens had been changed from previous diner. The area we were situated in was a bit loud. They served us lobster bisque which was so so. The rolls served were pretty good as was the salad. The main course we both got the a 1/2 tail of lobster and my gosh the lobster was very over cooked and incredibly chewy and tough. The vegetables were good but the potatoes shaped like a rose and the scalloped potatoes were incredibly dry like paper. The dessert was tiramisu and cheesecake which were ok. The server was so so and took awhile to refill our drinks as well as bring some other items we ordered. For what they charged for the prix fixed I was expecting a higher level of service and better quality of food. Not to mention a clean linen when we arrived. It seemed that the food was prepared in advanced and reheated to sone extent. I was really look forward to trying this restaurant and unfortunately my experience was very sub par. I would not recommend patronizing this restaurant for their valentines day prix fix meal.

Valentine's Day dinner. Our first time here, and this place was simply overwhelmed. That said, the food was great, and the service was a little off, but they cared, they were trying, and they were apologetic and aware that things weren't on point. This is a bed and breakfast and event center that opens the dining room to the public. Tables are laid out on one side of the first floor of an old farmhouse. Interesting place, great food, and they do try to provide a good experience, so my wife and I will definitely be back.

We had a perfect dinner. Our server was new to the restaurant but very helpful and attentive. The food was outstanding as always. The only suggestion I have is that it is time to replace those chairs: they are getting a bit too saggy for us old folks! Otherwise, though, the environment is lovely for an unhurried meal, elegant yet homelike.

Everything was excellent. I had the rack of lamb with bbq sauce . It was excellent, tasted like a filet. Wife had filet a bd loved it. The flourless chocolate cake was a fabulous desert, was like fudge but still a firm but delicious cake. Crembrulee also great. Highly recommend

I want so badly to give a higher review here because the people running this seemed so kind. The server was as well. But, we went on Valentines and had a prix fixe menu and I don't think they place is ready for that situation yet. One server to over a dozen tables on a 5 course meal was impossible to pull off well so the $125 per place price tag didn't match the experience. The food was ok, but not quite there either. Also there was a bit of a "show" during dinner with another table of patrons who came in so intoxicated that they disturbed the entire restaurant. The owner/manager ended up giving a dozen roses to each of the tables in that section and really trying to address it, so I think we may give this place another chance, just not on a busy night. The location is quaint and the staff was lovely, so I think it was likely an experience that was a little too much for the capacity of the place at this time. Will try again just because the people were so kind.
