Located in the heart of Boston's North End neighborhood, VINOTECA di MONICA serves Rustic Regional Italian cuisine and Wine Spectator’s Grand Award for one of the largest Selections of Italian wines in the city.

You no longer need to travel to Italy to experience the marriage between regional Italian food and wine. The menu focuses on the preservation of traditional regional dishes, with an unpretentious dedication to the true flavors that make regional Italian cuisine so popular.

The art of pasta and bread making are carried out daily, for your sampling, where the freshest ingredients is an everyday affair. VINOTECA di MONICA is the result of Monica’s Restaurant evolution and our passion for the Italian culture and the big role food and wine plays in its preservation.

We usually love Vinoteca di Monica but this time we had to wait 30 minutes for our table, even though we had a reservation. We were in town with our niece and so we wound up waiting in the very crowded bar (it seemed like they were running behind with several tables.) it was very frustrating and not well managed since we weren’t even given an estimate of how long the wait would be. The food was excellent as always but we may wait a bit before coming back.

The place was very busy given the time of the year (mid December). Service was excellent and our servers were extremely nice! Food and drinks were very good. Found the prices to be fair - it’s not their fault we ordered drinks and two bottles of wine, cranking up the total cost! Maybe one too many tables in each area made it a bit crowded, though.

The food was excellent, though we did feel a little rushed once we got it. The bar was packed as that’s where they wanted everyone to wait on their table. Our waiter was great and prompt. It was just very busy, which is probably because of how tasty it was!

It appears they over booked. Most waiting 30 minutes plus past reservation times. We ended up at the bar , bartender was gracious and professional handling the pressure. Not the best experience because of the crowd, but overall the food was excellent and service was great.

Always my favorite. It’s super busy and you have a 90 minute limit, so just know that when going.

Loved the selection of food, including appetizer we don't find often such as fried olives. Only downside was the pressure to eat fast and leave. Dessert menu was delivered while I was half way through my entree. The table next to us was asked to leave why still finishing their wine. I understand the need to turn tables on a busy evening, but I don't need the waitstaff hovering to move things along as quickly as possible.

Quintessential North End Italian restaurant with good food and service. Our group of four was seated near the kitchen where all of the servers were rushing in and out, bumping our table due to the tight squeeze. A four top table REALLY doesn’t fit in the space and it greatly impacted our experience. It made the evening feel rushed and chaotic all around us rather than a relaxing night with friends. The food was good but expensive and our server was very nice.

When we arrived we were warmly greeted and seated at a regular table which was a pleasant surprise because only high tops were available for making a reservation. The food was excellent. Our waiter acted pleasant enough initially but we had the distinct feeling because we were not drinking alcohol he wanted to move us along. Never once did he ask if we needed anything or check to see how our meal was. He took our drink glasses when they were empty, assuming that they would be refilled. We never saw them again. I understand that alcohol in increases the bill substantially. Just because we choose not to drink does not mean we are not generous tippers. Again, I can’t emphasize enough. The food was excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant and not too loud and the prices are reasonable. It is just our waiter who was extremely disappointing.

Really had a great meal. Haven’t been in a while. The whole experience was excellent , service to food!! Special note were the fried artichokes and the short rib dish. Finished by sharing the bread pudding!! We all decided we would go there just for that!! If you haven’t tried it we would highly recommend!!
