Two Spear Street was a decent, if unremarkable, dining experience. It’s perhaps *slightly* mis-advertised as white tablecloth (it does literally have white tablecloths, but is otherwise quite casual, including the TV with the football game playing) and as the only restaurant in Nyack with Hudson River views (accurate, but the restaurant has gone to some lengths to ensure their lighting is so bright that the glare off the windows prevents you from seeing outside). I share these observations only to suggest that if you’re envisioning a “special occasion” type restaurant from their description, there’s definitely an underwhelming aspect to the experience. Nothing bad, but nothing special. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and knowledgable, helping our party navigate a food allergy quickly and successfully. Service moved at a good pace; we weren’t kept waiting but did not feel rushed either. The food was okay. We started with the burrata appetizer, which came in a truffle balsamic and was delicious. For our entrees we ordered the duck and the ahi tuna. The duck was not particularly well-rendered, but the red wine reduction was very good, and the mashed sweet potatoes and seasoned vegetables on the side were delicious. The tuna was disappointing - decently prepared (rare, as it should be) but seasoned with… something, we spent most of the meal trying to figure out both the “what” and the “why” of what happened to that piece of fish. The coconut basmati rice was also poorly done, both in flavor and in cook (oddly, both mushy and underdone depending on the bite you took). The seasoned veg was again exceptional. We didn’t bother with dessert. Price point was not unreasonable for what the restaurant is trying to be, but given the low points in execution (both in vibes and in the food), we definitely didn’t feel like we got the value listed on the check. Not an “avoid at all costs” experience by any means, but as an anniversary dinner, a swing and a miss for us.

White tablecloth dining room, one half a little dark, one half facing the windows toward a view of the river and bridge, a small nook with a banquette facing the water and bridge. The menu is interesting and varied, portions are right-sized (not overly generous for big eaters), service is friendly and timely. Pear salad was beautifully composed, lots of sliced poached pears, delicious. Burrata caprese salad was generous and high quality. Duck breast was cooked medium rare, as ordered, and my husband said it was the best duck he can remember in a long time. Accompanying vegetables were lightly cooked, lightly seasoned and plentiful. Homemade tiramisu was excellent. We will return!

we went for the river view and sat on the outside patio which is fenced in by a tall prison like steel fence which overlooks a parking lot. way off in the distance you can see the river and the bridge. So this is NOT a place to go for a waterfront view. We waited 50 minutes for our appetizers to come and then another 25 minutes for the entrees. someone screwed up here not sure who..... wiater was nice but seemed to ignore the time issue.... food was very good though. wont be returning.
