Tír na nÓg Irish Bar & Grill incorporates the warmth of an Irish pub with New American cuisine and all the while maintains a famous charm and hospitality. This extremely popular establishment opened in 2002 in the heart of Center City Philadelphia, after the runaway success of the original in Manhattan.
A design team from Ireland created this small piece of Ireland by salvaging architectural pieces, furniture and bric-a-brac from churches and castles in Ireland and shipping them to the USA. These pieces, combined with rich textiles, Celtic script adorning the walls, and rich, dark wood have shaped an elegant yet inviting atmosphere which caters to the sophisticated and casual diner.
Tír na nÓg was just what Philly needed, a beautiful, yet unpretentious bar and restaurant that has something for everyone.
The combination of an attractive menu and a professional, yet friendly, team of bartenders and servers has made Tír na nÓg a major success with clientele of all ages.

As a recognized supporters bar for Manchester City soccer, made a reservation to enjoy their game with the family. Upon arrival, confirmed that we were there for the game. Unfortunately, they seated us in a room with all of the rugby supporters watching a nations league game on the opposite side of the restaurant from the soccer action. We could see a tv with soccer, but the speakers were blaring commentary for the RUGBY game. WTF? Fish and chips was more breading than fish. Would have had four drinks if waiter ever bothered to check on us.

I hosted a happy hour at Tir Na Nog because it's a great pub during the winter months (very cozy) and because it's located above the Suburban Station train stop. The guests said that the drink and food prices were very good and that they were happy with how easy it was to stop in before catching a train. Although this is an older Philly bar, I would definitely host another happy hour here in winter.

The garlic parm wings were outstanding as well as the burger. Both my date and I ordered the same items and agreed they were top shelf. We will return again on our next trip to Philadelphia

No one greeted us. Appetizer came after food. Fries weren't fresh. Weird ambiance. We felt like we were eating in a lobby or hallway. Next night we went to Con Molloy, and had the opposite experience. Wish we had gone there both nights. Two stars because the waiter seemed sweet and was trying hard to be nice.

We went for dinner and the musics was SO LOUD! We couldn’t hear each other at all. It was insane. I was screaming at my mom who was sitting next to me at a 4 person table. We got up and left after the waitress said she’d “ask them to turn it down” and nothing changed. I’m extremely disappointed that it was that loud on a Friday at 6:30. I don’t recommend them at all. Went to City tap and had a much better evening.

Pretty much what I'd expected: comfortable, casual downtown place for a light meal and a beer. I would suggest, however, adding a couple more local craft beers to the list and dropping some of the mass-produced stuff. That would attract a more discerning upscale clientele.

short staffed for a super busy Saturday . Ordered a Turkey BLT and got it with no bacon? My sister ordered a sandwich with sour dough bread-got rye? Odd. Waitress was nice but the poor girl was way too busy needed more help. Food itself was good if they had gotten the order correct

Have been here numerous times with friends and always had a pleasant experience! You get an ample amount of food that is always delicious and the servers have always been pleasant! This particular time was for a pre race meal for the Philly Marathon and my salmon was excellent! We returned for our traditional post race breakfast the next morning with a large group. It was very busy but the food was again really good and servers were really pleasant despite it being jam packed. My only minor complaint is that in winter when being seated in the front section near the main door, you get blasted with ice cold air every time someone comes in or out because the outside door sticks open. They really need to put up one of those temporary alcoves outside to block the air better or have people use the other entrance around the corner.
