   Had probably the worst table in the restaurant. Right against the glass entrance and about two feet from the next table. It was Valentines and we could not talk intimately.

   Great to be back at Tiqa after their more than one year closure. It is still a great space and the food was creative and delicious.

   They didn't hold my reservation so we had to wait until they opened up a table; they didn't inform me that it was a buffet only night and I couldn't order off the menu: the hostess projected her problems onto me and my guests, the "server" never showed up at the table except to give us the bill, food was cold and dry, no oner even bothered to explain how the buffet worked, plates were in the middle of the buffet line to add to the confusion, the water for the table came in a bottle and was not poured into our glasses, we were never asked if we would like drinks, had to order them at the bar... shall I go on?

   Hi Laurence, There is no excuse for bad service - my apologies for that experience. We have been calling all guests on a daily basis leaving messages to inform them of Thanksgiving offering - you had made your reservation the day before and we didn't have a chance to call and inform you (we had hundreds of people to contact). The offering is listed on our Facebook site and I know of now restaurant that's open on Thanksgiving and offers the regular menu. Sincerely hope you give us another try, believe your experience is not the norm. Deen

   A hidden gem on the fringe of Portland’s old port, with food that rivals the better known restaurants in town. Tiqa has recently re-opened and on the night we went, it was very quiet- too quiet for a place that serves up such unique and delicious food, and I expect it will be re-discovered soon. Instead of fighting the crowds in the old port, walk a few blocks and enjoy a memorable meal. Cocktails were great as well.

    I had one of the most exciting dinners that I’ve had in years. Recommended by friends, as it recently re-opened. I was fascinated with their online menu; and when I got there, had big decisions to make as to what to order. I could have ordered a dozen items on the menu. Our Server made very good recommendations. Every bite we had was filled with flavour. This restaurant describes itself as Mediterranean – while I would describe it more as middle-eastern. It offers a tight wine list of well-selected wines. The service is well co-ordinated, friendly and polished. I truly look forward to returning the next time I’m in the area.
