While some guests have enjoyed their meals, others have noted inconsistencies in food quality and menu variety. It was a strange experience. It is advertised as The Terrace Room, but that seems to be the name of the actual ballroom of the hotel — the menu was labeled Palm Court and seemed to be more of a lunch menu. Having said that the ambiance is very nice — high ceilings with interesting architecture. The server was very kind but overwhelmed — there was a huge party seated just before us that the whole staff seemed to be helping with. Food was just ok. The entree chicken was well-seasoned but very over-cooked. The arancini appetizer was forgotten and didn’t come out until after entrees (comped, which is appreciated). Arancini was under seasoned as well. The other entree was an Italian panini, again under seasoned. The menu offered waffle fries but the server said they’ve never had those. Overall seems like a little of an identity crisis. Appreciate the nice service though.

We dined for breakfast the day after Christmas. Our server had the personality of a rock and our food took well over an hour after we ordered. I had to get up from the table before our food even arrived, I had to go to the front desk and request an extension for checkout time because there was no way we would be able to enjoy our food and make it back Upstairs before noon checkout to retrieve our luggage. Poor service and very poor value for the food. 0 out of 10 recommend dining here.z.

Made reservations in the Terrance Room for Christmas Day. No indication that they would not be using the regular menu. When we arrived they provided us with the menu from the Tap Room which is sandwiches and salads. While the food was fine, I was expecting to be able to order steak or a dinner. No changes not d on their website or on Open table. Just disappointing….

We have a deep fondness for a proper High Tea. A childhood in London will do that. If those words resonate with you - avoid this establishment altogether. No joy or grace is here for you. The problems cannot be solved with new management — maybe new ownership. We got the "Queen's High Tea". Reception and seating were relaxing. The rest got worse. The table setting and room had lots of little things in disarray and garish, which distracted from having a nice relaxing sit. Black something crusted on the rim of the china cup. The burnt out light fixtures that had scorched the wall. The ceiling uncleaned in a decade or more. The staff milling about doing chores with cables, or the fourth time looking for anyone who needed more water, instead of bringing tea service. Then at one point we went 10 painfully long minutes without an tea service, no one even took our signals for attention. When finally someone asked, it was longer until tea service returned — without tea... (tisanes) — then longer before someone returned with black tea... which was bitterly over-steeped. And only a single course of finger-size sandwiches, then bonbons? This 'tea service' is for people that want the 'frilly tea' vibe with a macaroon-looking cookie. Maybe there's no high tea in Pittsburgh yet.

We went for a holiday version of afternoon tea. We really enjoyed the ambiance, the teas, our servers, really the whole experience. We’ll be back!

Really wanted to have a nice holiday lunch with my daughter at somewhere that felt special and Christmasy. While the terrace room is pretty and the hotel lobby is beautiful and wonderfully decorated, the lunch was definitely disappointing. The menu is still clearly from summer as marked by their summer Burger, the salads we got did not say they had anchovies on them, but they did and the whole salad tasted like anchovies. Even our lattes were not good. The wait staff was extremely slow. Overall, it just felt not great and very overpriced. We definitely choose a different spot for a holiday lunch next year.
