Main room is lively, noisy and enjoyable for the go go set. We prefer the patio which is warm and intimate. Giselle is a great waitress. Food is privy, but well worth it. Am OC institution.

The Quiet Woman is a local favorite, and it’s easy to see why. Comfort, coziness with a modern flair. The Vesper Martini is delicious, served old school with the additional flask. The food was delicious as well. Great for date night or just drinks and appetizers with friends.

So this is my first post ever to open table. I had dinner on Friday, 12-6-24. I had one of my worse experiences ever at this restaurant. I know what I say will not make a difference because this place has such a following and the place is a just a place to be seen. So my daughter lives in Newport Beach and my wife and I drove over 2 hours to take there for you birthday. So we were seated in their patio, which you have to walk through the restaurant and bar area out the back door into the alley. We had a good meal and our server was great. After dropping almost $500.,including tip we decided to go into the main room to the bar area. So we had to walk from the back into the main room. As I started to walk into the bar I was stopped by some young man who asked me where I was going. I told him into the bar. He would not let me go until I showed him my dinner receipt, which I explained to him that I left it on my table. I proceeded to tell him I just had dinner in Marguerite patio and to leave me alone. We said no receipt no entry. So as I was arguing with him the manager or the owner came over and proceeded to tell me I had to leave because I didn’t eat there. That I snuck in from the back. I proceeded to argue with him know and I tried to remind him he was the one that actually sat us for dinner. Finally our server walked by and vouched for us. So they let us in and they never apologized. The manager or owner was so rude and didn’t care. I understand what the issue is but you don’t have to be rude. I guess if you’re not a OC housewife or a regular they don’t care. Will not be going back to a place where they don’t care how they treat customers.

The calamari is wonderful--but big portion easy to share with two to four people. I confused the waitress at one point and said I would order two small plates so I would have room for dessert. I said I loved the scallops last time but wanted a light portion. I might have misspoken as she said oh you can bet in various sizes... So I said three --and she brought oysters. I said I am sorry I thought you had a scallop appetizer as I am not fond of oysters. So I got the Nantucket instead. I also had creme brulee and the portion is too big for one for most of us but better shared. It would be nice if they offered a smaller portion for single diners. OVERALL it was an excellent meal and I am glad I took an early Saturday reservation as when I left there was a line of customers out the door.

I usually love this place, however this time the kitchen could clearly not keep up with the amount of people in the restaurant. The food took forever to come out and the vegetables were undercooked.

This was an amazing experience. I didn’t realize they always have live music. The guitar duo was great and sounded really good - played great songs. The food was so tasty and cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.
