   Stating with the very good warm rolls and dipping oil. Then the lobster sliders and baked calms, both were very good. The seafood bisque was ok. The sliced tuna on salad was disappointing. While the salad and Asian dressing was fine, the tuna was not edible. My Caesar with chicken was also off. The romaine was crisp and chilled, but the chicken was dry, and the dressing had no “Caesar” just as bland as plain oil. Our server was fine, but she never asked how we enjoyed our meal, even though she saw all of the tuna that was left on the plate uneaten. I didn’t complain, maybe I should have. But, I’ve enjoyed the oar many times so I’ll count this as a “one off.” Still, a worthwhile place, especially in the warmer months when you can sit outside.

   The restaurant was nicely decorated and I think it would be lovely in the summer when you can see outside. It was crowded and extremely loud, making it very hard to hold a conversation. The sound seemed to echo off the glass and ceiling. The food was good, if pricey. Two of our party loved the blood orange margaritas, and everyone raved about dessert.

   We were meeting a friend we have not seen in over 30 years. We explained this to the staff and they were extremely accommodating. We were seated at our table for over 4 hours and the staff could not have been kinder. We never felt as if they wanted anything other than for us to have a wonderful time, which we did . The drinks were excellent and the food delicious. It was so nice to be treated so well when many restaurants would have had staff that would have been annoyed by us. Thank you to everyone at The Oar.

   The best seafood fra Diavlo I have every had. Baked clams were outstanding. My wife asked for the prime rib special well done end cut and got exactly what she ordered. The waiter was very good, food was hot and served in a timely fashion

   Food and service was amazing the noise level was overwhelming. I like that they have live music but I feel like they don’t have to make the music sooo loud that people are yelling across tables to talk

   Went for Restaurant week yesterday. Started with the grilled octopus and grilled sea scallops over sautéed greens. Delicious! Our entrees were pork ossobuco and grilled haddock . The haddock was served over a barley risotto. Both dishes were cooked perfectly. Nice sized portions. I almost didn’t order the haddock because it was described in the menu as served with “ barley with black bean, ricotta & mozzarella”, which sounded weird to me. The server’s description was spot on, so I gave it a try. So glad that I did! Should be a regular addition to the menu. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you haven’t already tried it.

   My sister and I were there yesterday, Sunday, next to the full bar crowd who were watching a football game but we were able to talk without raising our voices. Our server, Cindy, was lovely and attentive. The food : we shared baked clams and lobster wontons and I had the Manhattan clam chowder all of which were delicious. The cocktails were wonderful also. We look forward to going back again soon.

   A fantastic dining experience and night out with friends!! The Oar is always on point and delivers with excellent eats. We started with the baked clams, mussels and fried calamari which were all cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The mains of short ribs, NY strip, filet and chicken pot pie were outstanding and bursting with mouth-watering yumminess. Two thumbs for Nicole who made the evening superb. Her top notch friendly service truly added to our evening. We look forward to our next visit and her company!!!
