Fresh, light, modern, and sophisticated are words that describe both The Light House restaurant in the south London suburb of Wimbledon and its meltingly good Italian fusion cuisine. The dining room is pleasingly modern and spacious, all pale walls with striking artworks, blond floors and furniture, and there is a lovely patio for lingering on and on. The Light House menu changes every day to make best use of the freshest seasonal ingredients and each dish is an adventure. Try perroche bruschetta with piquillo peppers, caperberries, babaganoush and Greek olives to start, perhaps followed by pan-fried sea bass on wild garlic leaves, courgettes, ratte potatoes and romesco sauce. Black pepper cheesecake with gooseberry compote is a winner, too. For chatty lunches, romantic evenings, memorable Sunday lunches or satisfying meals when Wimbledon tennis is in full swing, The Light House is waiting with excellent modern European food and friendly service.

I really don't know why people visit the Ivy, when The Light House exists. Great food with an interesting menu, good wine list, and good service.

Inspite of the rain a warm smile awaited us at the Lighthouse. There are a selection of round, oblong and Square tables in this bustling restaurant.
The menu caters for all tastes and the waitress was knowledgable on all the dishes. A tea candle was lit and our evening commenced.
My partner chose the ham hock & veg broth and I had the salad of feta, beetroot, apple, fig
salad vinaigrette. Both a good size and tasty.
My companion chose chicken with veg and chips and I had the steamed hake . I chose some greens as a side to share. Both plates came within a reasonable time and were beautifully cooked .
My rice pudding with warm plum jam was devine!
There is a pleasant level of chatter but it's not intrusive . The cost reflects the quality of the food and service.
We have been eating here for many years and have never been disappointed.

Really friendly staff who were attentive throughout our meal. Our food tasted delicious . Only comment is that the plates could have been better presented. There was quite a lot of food on the plate and it lacked a bit of eye appeal. Otherwise a very enjoyable mid week meal!

We received a very warm welcome from friendly and helpful staff at the Light House on a busy Saturday evening.
The menu was interesting and the food generally well prepared. Service was excellent and comfortably unhurried, which is becoming unusual in many restaurants.
The wine list had a good selection at a range of prices to suit most pockets.
Definitely a restaurant to be recommended.

It was a delicious meal but unfortunately there was a rank damp smell around where we were sitting. We mentioned it to the waitress and she agreed but didn’t offer anymore info 🤔

Great service and great location. The waiting team were fantastic and went over and above to look after us. The chef was moaning and complaining at the front of house which wasn’t great and the mood of the chef was reflected in the food.l which was over overcooked and salty!
