The highlight was the food, the cheesecake appetizer especially. This was my second visit in two weeks. The restaurant decor is inviting and even though the restaurant was busy, we were able to have a conversation with ease. The service was attentive and professional. On both visits, the wine list was an issue as neither of the first two bottles we asked for was on hand. They made this right by making an acceptable substitution. We are fairly new to Tulsa with roots in New Orleans. I expect that we will visit again, regularly.

A lovely place and wonderful staff. The food actually tasted amazing. My steak was cooked to perfection and the potatoes were lovely. The only reason I couldn’t give it five stars is the appearance of the food. It is like the person playing the food has an idea of what French food is from a book but has never been to France. Looking at the photo would not make me want to go. The steak looked dry but was actually very good. The potatoes do not look like potatoes because I’ve never seen a steak put on top of potatoes au gratin. I’ve seen it done in mashed potatoes or risotto but never hard potatoes. So it was very tall and impossible to eat befit rearranging myself. The asparagus was tasty but nothing special. While the potatoes were delicious they weren’t very elegant or appealing visually. So again the food was delicious but you have to get by the appearance and if that is part of your experience then perhaps you won’t like this place.

I always love the French Hen, and enjoy great service there. On this evening, however, I ordered an after dinner drink and halfway through it, the overhead lights went on. I guess it was time for us to leave! I would have preferred being told before I received the drink that I wouldn’t have time to enjoy it.

This is the second time we have been to this restaurant. Our first time was not good so we wanted to give it a second chance and we are glad we did as this visit was outstanding in all aspects. We would highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a good atmosphere and food.

After one hour and no food we had to leave. The wine and salads were good and the service was fair. We had no idea what the food would have been like. It seems like a nice restaurant but the service is super slow.
