Constantly good. My wife and I went for a date night. We also had an early reservation. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server came over, went over the specials and asked if we wanted any drinks. We had the house Cabernet Sauvignon it was very good, not heavy. For starters I had the tuna tartare, it was excellent. My wife had the octopus. It was good, but more spicy than I expected. For the main I had stuff pork chop and my wife had the halibut, both were good but could have used some more seasoning. We split a desert and had coffee. Bill was $200. As expected we had a nice dinner nice ambiance and good service. I will be back.

Something is amiss here. There is a reason you can’t get a table here on Friday evenings, and that reason is that this place has always set a high bar. Something is clearly clearly slipping here and I am unlikely to return. We don’t live close so coming to Brass Rail is an inconvenience we accept because it has always won the inconvenience:experience ratio. After last night - not so much. The food was fine, as it typically always is. Service was slow, at best. The timing on the soup/app to the table was way off, with the entree arriving basically immediately on top. Usually I will order my app or soup and wait to order my entree to avoid exactly this problem, but never needed to do that here because the timing was never a problem here. Last night the entrees arrived basically moments after the soup/app. Annoying. Wait on your entree order here. The espresso martini was God-awful. I mean - Awful. No layering, no froth, no beans. It was red. ?? Awful. Worst part of the night though was the loud, baseball-cap, t-shirt and gold-chain wearing half-a-thug seated next to us, who then had a similarly awful friend show up to meet him. Baseball caps at the table? Loud, obnoxious. Im unlikely to return. Rothmanns and many other restaurants are much closer to home. Something is falling apart here.

The Brass Rail offers the best ambience combined with good food and quality wine in the North Shore area. It is casual enough to enjoy frequent lunches with people, while being elegant enough for special occasions such as birthdays. The food is very good with sufficient variety to please all sorts of people. It is one of my favorites, and I encourage others to try it!

Dinner was delicious. Ed had the salmon over soba noodles. A suggestion I would like to offer is to serve more soba noodles.

We've been coming back to celebrate my father's birthday for four straight years. He loves the restaurant as does the entire family. What's not to love the food is consistently superb and the service is fantastic. See you next year!
