   We live in Albuquerque and this is our go to place before concerts. We’re here 3 or 4 times a year. Always a wonderful time

   This was our first time to The Arrogant Butcher and it won’t be our last. I got the fried chicken breast and my husband got the meatloaf, both of which were absolutely delicious. Miranda, our server, was outstanding. She was very knowledgeable on the wine selection as well as our food choices. It’s the perfect restaurant to eat at before a concert at the Footprint Center, literally across the street.

   Our server was nice enough, but disappeared for a while. Most of the food was lukewarm, but we were so hungry having waited over an hour for our food after 9 pm. When I made the reservation, I was asked if it was a special occasion which I noted it was for my brother’s graduation. We also informed the server upon arrival and he didn’t even really react. My question is why ask if it’s a special occasion if there’s nothing you’re gonna do to make it extra special? We were visiting from out of town but probably not somewhere. Will come back to the next time we’re in Phoenix.

   We were celebrating two birthdays and the staff went out of their way to make it extra special. The noise level was comfortable enough we could talk and launch without being disruptive or not hearing each other. Can’t wait to go back!

   First, we were a table of 4 seated under a heat lamp outside on a 75 degree night. Asked to turn off Heater and they said no because table 3 over wanted Heaters on. We were in tshirts so we couldn’t take anything off. Ask to move over one table under off heater and told no, could not make the change. Got up and asked hostess what is the difference in two 4 tops next to each other, one under heat, we where at and didn’t want, and one next door under heater that was turned off. Finally said ok and we could move. Server took drink order and food order. Someone delivered steak knives only. Salad came, no silverware and no server. I got up to ask hostess for silverware and returned to table, about the time the food arrived and pre dinner drinks arrive at the same place time as the food. Manager came to apologize and comped drinks. For having ‘butcher’ in the name, clearly using choice beef in prime rib instead is prime beef. Tough and boring. Over all, a solid C Grade. Would I return? No. Too many other places that are actually trying.

    The scallops were nicely done but the curry was too spicy. Everyone else loved their meals . Very loud music.

    Hi Mary! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. I am so sorry that the curry was spicy! We would love to have you all again and I recommend ordering the Thai Chili butter on the side or omitting it, I think that would help mild it down a lot.
