   I had high expectations and was disappointed. Arrived 15 minutes early so was sent to the bar. Never served at the bar. Seating was a question as I tried to avoid sitting in the sun. That seemed to cause confusion. Waiter was fine at the beginning, helped in wine selection. After I was served I was history. I conserved the wine as I ate, not sure a second glass would be offered. It was offered late so I gulped down to pace with lasagna. I asked about lack of bread, typically offered gratis especially with Italian meal. I was told it was extra, menu item at $13. Manager came around later & I gave him my thoughts on bread. He offered and brought bread at no charge. It was ok, especially the dip, but had no bite. Broccolini was good, but hard to cut with knife provided. Lasagna was tasty, overlarge portion. I was a single diner in the midst of families with kids running around. Overall it was a disappointing experience. On to the next restaurant!

   Pizza was amazing as always. New on the menu is the truffle mushroom. I love their Cesar salad because of its creamy dressing

   My spaghetti carbonara was delicious. I had tiramisu for dessert which was very good. We will definitely be back.

   We had another fabulous dinner at Taverna! One of the best kitchens on Maui. Our server Sharon was professional and personable. Our meal was well paced. We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful, lush views. Great cocktails and wonderful wines by the glass. So many great options on the menu. I had the fresh catch, Mahi Mahi, delicious buttery caper sauce, fish was so moist, sides of rice and broccolini were a perfect complement. My husband had the special - rack of lamb. Seasoned with a balanced herb crust, cooked to perfection, super tender and the sides were also fantastic. This restaurant is not to be missed on your trip to Maui! Thank you for the enjoyable experience!

   What can I say? If you come to Maui and you don’t eat here, you’ve missed a real treasure. The service was incredible… My wife has allergies and they treated her like one of their family. Taverna is highly recommended!

    I’ve been to this place several times though it’s not on my short list of places to go when in Kapalua bec other than the pizza and salads the rest of the menu/preparation was not to our liking. We decided to go bec we were in the mood for pizza. We were running late so I tried to call but no one picked up. I tried to message on open table but they had not set up that capability. When we got to the restaurant she said it would be just a moment. She proceeded to sit a couple that had come in after us inside. She then tried to sit us outside even though I had clearly requested indoor (we both have allergies). She said an indoor table would be quite a while. We decided to sit at the bar and eat. The food was delicious. We had a margarita pizza, the salad with the figs and goat cheese, the ahi tuna entree. The food is so much better than it used to be. However, the kitchen is off because I did not get my salad which I was eating as my main until after my husband had long finished his ahi. It’s instances like these…uncaring hostess and food not served when it should be that warrant me not placing it on my short list. The bartender that served us was fine and did all he could to get my salad out…going back twice.
