Once again, we came in, rushed, stressed from work and the holidays and traffic. And once again, everything stopped. We left it all at the door. We were greeted with a smile and reassured that all would be excellent for the rest of our evening and it WAS. Amazing, creative cocktails came quickly. The BEST caramelized cauliflower appetizer (not to mention the fabulous prime rib cigars) took the edge off of the “hanger”. And then, duck confit…WOW. And then Garlic noods…WOW. Wine, conversation, jokes, the pace was slow and perfect. We even left room for the caramel croissant bread pudding. Thank GOD we did! I swear we want to come in when we’re not at our rope’s end, but just knowing this place fixes all of the silly worries of the world is a comfort. Thank you again!

I hate to be writing this, as I was very much looking forward to this experience. Especially after the Michelin recognition, plus it’s been on my list for a long while. First - let’s talk about the dumb stuff. The lighting in the center of the dining area is so offensive and harsh that I couldn’t believe I was in a higher-end place. Yeah - this is a dumb thing to complain about. But it’s so LED-ish, and so harsh, that I truly had trouble enjoying what could be a great looking restaurant. Lighting DOES affect the experience. Just change it for warm lighting - not this cold, ugly lighting. But, more importantly (yes, lighting is a dumb thing to complain about) - the food was really quite average. Below, actually. My pasta and appetizer both were served way under temperature. The taste was fine - but the dishes felt like they had been sitting around awhile. My friend’s steak was also below an acceptable temperature. Not cold - just quite lukewarm. The taste - fine? But when it’s not even hot, it’s tough to make any judgment at all. The service, while friendly, was uneven, slow, and sparse. I truly had high hopes, and was let down. I likely won’t return. And that makes me sad.

Stopped in last night for dinner, the service was perfect, the food was good. However, I have a suggestion, the lighting needs to be more consistent and warm. The booth lighting appears to be 27K which is nice and warm, but the general lighting is a much cooler maybe 50K. I found the glare distracting. Overall the atmosphere is nice.

Been years since my last visit… possibly over 10! Still a great atmosphere with great service provided by “Perry M” and team. I think I just chose the wrong things since for the most part I was underwhelmed and/or maybe my expectations were too high. The simple bibb salad was unmemorable. The few leaves of bibb lettuce were huge and the tomatoes, green olive and onions added little to the mix. The dressing was quite good. Wish they had better side-salad options to choose from. The black mussels and jumbo shrimp, shared as an appetizer was the highlight of the meal! Good sized, fresh mussels. Nice large shrimp. And a delicious mild curry broth. Only negative: just two small slices of bread which was not enough to soak up the extra broth left on the plate! While a recommendation, the sous vide short rib was just not to my liking. The chimichuri was just far too garlicky and overpowering for the rather small piece of meat. Over 5 hours later and that taste is still not out of my mouth. Had I had the mussels and shrimp as my entree and chosen a different appetizer in place of the simple bibb salad, I’m sure I would have had an entirely different opinion. The fourth star is for that portion of the meal. I’d have no issue returning. Far too many positive points to let a couple bad choices keep me away. The parking in that area these days, however, is another story! I miss the years I could just pull up a block or two from Hattie’s and usually have no problem finding a spot!
