Stables Ranch Grille at Tubac Golf Resort & Spa serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Stables Ranch Grille is named for its historical significance of being the famed Otero ranch an actual stable back in the day. Our rustic dining rooms reveal the original Spanish cobblestone floor and massive hand-hewn beams. Enjoy American Southwestern cuisine featuring appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pasta, fresh seafood, steaks, chops, and southwestern specialties. Friendly service, fine-casual cuisine, and a comfortable atmosphere combine for a rustic yet upscale dining experience with incredible views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Two dining rooms, two patios, and a large bar provide several areas to dine or relax with a tasty beverage.

My husband I have brought friends here in the past and it was wonderful. This last experience wasn't as great. I had the pork cutlet, last year it was amazing! This year they forgot to put the over easy egg on top, which ties the whole meal together. They did end up bringing an over hard egg after waiting about 10 minutes after our food was served. The egg needs to be over easy. Then, we ate breakfast there the next day and the butter on our pancakes couldn't melt because everything was so cold! Even the syrup wasn't heated up. I will be back, but I do hope they get this and change things up.

Hands down, this has been my go to establishment for exceptional food and service for nearly a decade. I’m unsure why this particular day there were only a few tables occupied or why the food was overcooked and ordinary. Let’s hope it was simply an off day and the food and ambience returns to normal standards. It would truly be a heartbreak if that’s not the case.

We always enjoy it there especially when we can sit close the 18th hole. Love the REAL wood burning fireplaces at night. Cosy!!

We arrived about 30 minutes early for our reservation. They said to wait in the bar and they would call us for our reservation and it may be a little late. We got to the table (which was highly undesirable) at about 7:45. We ordered oysters as an appetizer. They were the smallest oysters I have ever seen. About the size of a nickel. Then we ordered pan seared chicken. Our waitress came back about 5 minutes later and said they were out of chicken. One of the restaurant managers came over and apologized for the issue. He said he would take care of our check. The waitress came back and we ordered Walleye instead. It took a very long time for our entree to be served. To be fair the fish was good. Then we ordered desert and it took forever to get a piece of pie to go. Overall our opinion was they were overwhelmed and unprepared for the New Years Eve crowd. It was pretty chaotic with people running all around. Not sure if we would ever go there again on a big holiday. The manager did comp our dinner which was much appreciated due to our underwhelming experience.

Unfortunately, we chose New Years Eve as our first time to dine at Stables. The two hostesses were clearly overwhelmed and we were seated 40 minutes after our 7 pm reservation. We did not have a problem with this. In my three conversations with one hostess she was rude and unprofessional. When she went to seat my party of four at a banquet table large enough for eight, I asked about a nearby table for four. She sarcastically said she would check on that, slammed a kitchen door open and walked through it. She left me standing in the dining room. I felt like her overly dramatic behavior made it look like I was being a difficult customer. I wasn't. Cassie stepped in and saw that my party was seated and she checked on us a couple times. Our waitress, Nicole, was friendly and attentive. Food was delayed coming from the kitchen. Cassie and Nicole offered us a free dessert at the end of the meal. We had looked forward to staying at the resort and dining at Stables. We probably would not choose to dine there again.
