St. Elmo Steak House has been a landmark in downtown Indianapolis since 1902. It is one of the oldest Indiana restaurants in its original location & has earned a national reputation for its excellent steaks, seafood, chops & professional service. Try our famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail followed by a dry-aged USDA Prime Steak. We happily accommodate special requests; please call the restaurant directly.     Always an enjoyable experience. However, my steak was cold when served. It was cooked perfectly, but it was obvious that the plate had been sitting for a while before everything was brought to our table. Service and everything else was excellent, just disappointed with the steak itself.

    Food was excellent everything was cooked Perfectly . The shrimp cocktail was signature St Elmo with all the spicy horseradish. our waitress Melissa was attentive and excellent.

    It was my first time dining there. My girlfriend's 2nd time and it was her treat. We did have to book our reservation many weeks ahead. But it was worth the wait. Once you eat there, you'll understand just why they're so booked up well into the future. Our server and he was excellent. The food was excellent. The ambience was excellent. We have zero complaints. Definitely worth the money and will definitely return someday.

    Such a historic spot for a delicious steak dinner. Service is top notch, food is delicious, and the shrimp cocktail is unmatched. Highly recommend!

    It was our first time going there. Our waitress Paige was absolutely amazing!!!! We will request her every time we go back. Be aware when it says spicy shrimp cocktail. They mean it, but it was so good. Also best espresso martini I have had to wrap up the meal!
