Priding ourselves on our motto ‘Famous for fish’ Smiths Restaurants is a name that has become synonymous with fine dining and quality, attentive service. Our restaurants are located in Ongar Essex (just off the A414) and Wapping in central London (near Tower Bridge). Both restaurants boast an extensive menu of fresh fish that we offer to cook in a variety of ways to suit every palette. We also offer locally sourced meat dishes to accommodate those who prefer their food terra firma. To compliment the quality of our food we have worked closely with well renowned independent wine merchants to ensure we have a selection of wines that are the perfect accompaniment to every meal. The only problem you may have a Smith’s is being spoilt for choice.

    Our first Sunday lunch at Smiths and what can I say, it was the best roast I have ever had! The beef just melted in my mouth. Smiths is a true shining star. Never ever had a bad meal or experience. The staff are exceptional!

    Everything was really good but I found the price a little bit on the high side. More of a London price rather than an Essex one.

    We always have a lovely meal here. Never disappointed. Service is excellent. So many staff doing different jobs. Very attentive but discrete. We all had something different and every meal was lovely. Quite pricey but worth the money.

    It never disappoints. The food was exceptional. We both had a gorgeous piece of skate and was beautifully cooked and presented. Service is first class and often better than in Michelin starred restaurants.

    A la Carte and Set Dinner Menu with so much choice. Excellent quality and presentation of food and friendly, attentive staff. A special and memorable evening with good friends. Highly recommend.
