    Waitress was wonderful but so busy she had a hard time getting to us. Food was great, can’t beat the view. We will be back.

    The food is delicious and the view can’t be beat. Plenty of parking too. We love this restaurant! It’s our go-to for celebrations or a simple happy hour for two.

    Skates on the Bay is a favorite for us, so my wife and I went for our Valentine's Day dinner date. Our reservation was for 8:30pm and while the restaurant was still full when we arrived, the crowd began to thin out as the evening went on. My wife and I had a very enjoyable time, and really loved the excellent dozen and a half oysters we ordered. But overall, this was a disappointing meal for us at Skates. My Chilean Sea Bass came out not fully cooked, and the second time it wasn't better. The fish was heavily over seasoned, looked kind of thrown on the plate, and didn't get eaten. My wife's Cioppino went back as well due to under cooked scallops. She ate it when it came back, except for the scallops. We had ordered a bottle of what was on the wine list as a Napa sauvignon blanc but the bottle indicated North Coast. Sorry if I'm complaining, but the menu should be correct. Our server, Kenny, was doing his best to take care of us and while we didn't request it, the restaurant made adjustments to our bill to compensate. We chalk it up to the restaurant being very busy all night, and it won't stop us from going back.

    Very disappointing. Made reservations early for a special Valentine’s dinner. Arrived early, seated in the bar which was busy but pleasant. Seated 40 minutes after our reservation time. 20 minutes later we ordered and 30 minutes later received our salad, soup and bread. An hour and 45 minutes after our reservation we received our entrees. Waitress did not check on us and when we tracked her down and then spoke with the manager we were told the “kitchen was backed up….a busy night“ manager said he would deduct the price of dessert He did not and when we asked to speak with him, he never showed. Not going back.

    This was fine! I feel that you can have better food many other places, and that this is a restaurant that uses its gravitas and price point to indicate a level of quality that does not exist and its location to avoid creativity. The menu was tired, but not poorly executed. Good spot for a date, but if you’re really looking to impress, I would go anywhere that specializes in what you want to eat, instead of coming somewhere that does a little bit of everything not nearly as well. Nice if you have a table on the water, but just not that good of food. Tired is the perfect word.
