About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Romantic
  • Good for special occasions
For over 20 years Siena has been Austin’s premier destination for authentic Tuscan cuisine. Locally owned and operated Siena's owners wanted to share their love of Tuscany with Austin diners. Utilizing the talents of long time veteran of the Austin food scene, Chef Harvey Harris, Siena's goal is to transport the dinner from the hills of North Austin to the rolling hills of Toscana. Chef Harvey received his Master's Chef in Italian cuisine while attending culinary school in Piedmonte Italy, but his heart is in Tuscany where he lived and worked. All food at Siena is prepared to order, pasta is made fresh daily as well as all stocks and sauces. Our food is complemented by an award-wining wine cellar and served in rustic, elegant surroundings of thick stone walls and tall wood-beamed ceilings. Whether visiting for happy hour, special event, or a romantic evening, experience the welcoming charm of Tuscany close to home.

We enjoy the atmosphere of the place. It is quiet enough to converse with your friends at the table. The service is excellent and friendly. The menu is extensive and the food excellent. We love to go there when we have friends in town and on special occasions. We've never been disappointed.

It was probably 15 years since we were back. We just didn't live in the area. Had an amazing dinner. Ambience, food, friendly service, and all around great evening. We're going to take our daughter back!

It was such a wonderful, I have to call it almost an adventure/memory to take and surprise our friend at sienna. to walk into that beautiful restaurant, that environment and be so warmly welcomed. We had an amazing very knowledgeable waiter Jordan and the food was hands-down Italian incredible with the most beautiful wine. Keep up whatever it is that you’re doing because it makes people very very happy. It certainly did us.

Siena has been our favorite Austin restaurant for many years. They were aware that it was our 50th wedding anniversary. The experience went South when we came through the door. The hostess was dressed worse than an inappropriately dressed patron. Initially, she tried to seat us at a tiny table for 2 and, when we asked for a larger table, she sat us by a glass door with the rack for their dumpsters in full view so no possibility of a nice picture from the table. Our wait person was very nice and did a good job. However, the main course of Chilean Sea Bass was horrible. We had to send it back. It was paper thin with a texture like rubber and no flavor. I asked for a freshly brewed cup of decaf coffee and it, clearly, had been sitting on the burner for quite some time. To top it all off, they didn't even offer a complimentary glass of champagne or dessert in honor of our very special anniversary. After so many beautiful memories of special occasions at Siena we will never go back and we're sad. The current management is a disaster and it's a shame! It's one of the most beautiful and special restaurants in Austin.

My wife and I marvel every time we go to Siena. We marvel because it never disappoints and we marvel that we don’t go there more often. It has been an Austin staple for a number of years and it is easy to forget the standbys in the midst of looking for the next great thing in restuarants. Last night we discovered how good the flatbread was. We had never ordered it. It was splendid. It reminded us of spending the morning with Diego and Christine in the Tuscany region of Italy as we learned how to make flatbread and tagliatelle from their modest but well equipped kitchen in their farmhouse. Simply spectacular wine selection. We shall return…more often in the future.

Ambience was excellent to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Menu and wine list had many options from which to choose. Highly recommend.

3rd or 4th time here. Seated promptly, great table, menus and wine list but no server/water for at least 10 minutes. Another 10-15 to get cocktails; (why not drop cocktail menu with wine list or at least ask? We don’t drink wine so spent 10-15 minutes just sitting there waiting to be greeted) When the cocktails arrived they were balanced and tasty. Fig appetizer was hot and delicious. Mele salad also very good, light and refreshing. We had 2 pasta dishes, the pappardelle with wild boar, a standard; and the fettuccine with mushroom and truffle, our new favorite. Again, hot, delicious, savory and the aroma of the truffle oil was intoxicating. Broccoli was good and grilled bread were superb but only came after we had eaten half of our pasta. Brought home tiramisu and while not quite traditional it was among the best we’ve ever had (and we just spent 2 weeks in Italy)🇮🇹 Server was ok; seemed like he was the only one for the entire (large)room so we didn’t feel very pampered but he wasn’t rude or anything like that; just very perfunctory feeling. Lovely cozy space, definitely gives that Tuscan vibe. Will definitely be back but the service could be just a smidge friendlier and slightly more attentive for a dinner that was slightly over $150 before tip.
