   We were seated at a 2 top next to a door that looked like an emergency exit. It was not the front door and was in the dining room. It was chilly outside and restaurant employees keep going out the door and each time a blast of cool air came in. We asked our server about it and the manager came over and said he would make sure it stopped. It didn't including a time the manager came over and opened it. He then comped us 2 desserts for the inconvenience that we really didn't want. Also I ordered salmon since I don't eat steak and it had a mushy texture. It tasted fine and was not over cooked but a texture I have never experienced before. I wanted to ordered the short rib ravioli first course,$22, as my main and was told by the server that it was only 1 small ravioli so ordered the salmon instead. I should have ordered 2 of the ravioli instead of the salmon. The wedge salad, mashed potatoes, tres lache cake and apple tart were nothing special. The condiments with the salmon were interesting and tasty. My husband said his Rib eye steak was better than average. We used to live in the area and we're back for a few days. We had heard the Selanne was outstanding. We would not say so and won't be back or recommend it. Our server Demitri was very good as were the runners. It was a less than satisfactory experience at an expensive restaurant that should have been better. We dine at many restaurants around the world and this one falls short of expectations for the price.

   Great place for fine dining. One of the best steaks in Orange County. Wonderful seasonal menu too accompanied by excellent service.

   large filet was Perfect. NY was a bit overdone, it is a thin cut, get med rare not medium as server recommended. martinis and oysters were a very nice start. for sides can not recommend the broccoli dish, on the dry side but… carrots wow! beet salad wow! and mashed were all super delicious. Would definitely go back for these and a great steak.

   We love Selanne's. The food is delicious, and the service is top notch. It's always such a treat when we go there.

   Hands down best steak house ever. Way better than Ruth Chris and Mastro’s. If you’re a steak lover, order their Lord Stanley. Their medium is “medium rare” at other steak houses. So remember to confirm with your server when you order it. But yes!!! Hands down best steak I’ve ever had!!! Amazing dessert too!!

   We are inside, downstairs in the bar. Food was delicious. The Banana Foster is a must for dessert.

   Our first visit, we anticipated an expensive but memorable meal in an elegant setting. Instead, we were greeted by a cold “Can I help you?” and seated in a plastic covered porch. Heated, but next to the open door and a cold breeze. The salad and soup were very good, but the soft white bread was uninteresting. My medium rare filet mignon was overcooked, as was my wife’s halibut, which was rubbery. The waiter, Miguel, was fine but seemed distracted. We won’t be back.

   Everything was wonderful. We especially enjoyed the slow braised ravioli, Caesar Salad, Mac and Cheese was mind blowing, mashed potatoes and Wagyu Steak. Parking was easy, noise level was pleasant and the staff were very nice.

    What a lovely special occasion spot by the beach! The beet "ravioli" salad was pretty as a picture, but the seasonal (butternut squash) and daily (broccoli) soups were standout stars too.
