    Went to Ruth’s Chris in Irvine on Valentine’s Night. I understand it was a busy night, but that’s even more reason to ensure quality and pay attention to requests, especially on such a special evening for couples. The shrimp had a bad smell, and the steak, ordered medium well, came out rare. They took it back, claimed to remake it, but just recooked the same piece, making it tough and unappetizing. The lobster wasn’t replaced, so by the time the steak returned, it was cold and unpleasant. On the positive side, the Caesar salad and cheesecake were good, but the main course was a big disappointment. This isn’t the first bad experience I’ve had here. The restaurant feels outdated, and even the flooring is dirty. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

    We’ve been loyal customers of Ruth’s Chris for years, and Carter is the main reason we make a reservation—sometimes a year in advance—just to ensure a great experience. Unfortunately, this Valentine’s Day was anything but that. Despite having it noted on our profile to be seated in Carter’s section, we were placed elsewhere, and the service was a huge letdown. Our waiter, Arthur, completely forgot to put in our appetizer order and didn’t check on us for 20 minutes. When my husband asked about the spicy shrimp we had clearly ordered, Arthur gaslit us by saying he didn’t realize we wanted it. By that point, the entire experience felt frustrating and disappointing. We love this restaurant, but without Carter’s exceptional service, it just wasn’t enjoyable. If we can’t be seated in his section, we won’t be back for special occasions like this. So disappointed.

    It was quiet on Super Bowl Sunday and we got to enjoy a good time there with very little crowds. The service is good and food is decent.
