Ruth's Chris Steak House was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana by Ruth Fertel, a single mother of two who wanted a better life for herself and her two sons. She purchased "Chris" steakhouse in New Orleans which had been operated for the 38 years prior. She changed the name to Ruth's Chris when a fire forced her to move from the original location. Today, there are 142 Ruth’s Chris Steak House restaurants across the globe. We look forward to our opening in Gaithersburg, MD.

Steaks coming out that overcooked, particularly when requested medium-rare, is definitely a letdown, especially at a premium price point. Here are a few things that could have been done better: Accuracy in Cooking: At a steakhouse, precise temperature is fundamental. Medium-rare should never be mistaken for well-done, especially by professionals. Management Oversight: A lack of management presence to address the issue shows poor attention to customer satisfaction. An apology from the server is good, but a gesture from management—like a discount, replacement, or future dining credit—would have shown they value your business. Customer-Centric Service: With only a few tables occupied, there should have been more attention to detail. It’s fair to expect better execution when the kitchen isn’t under significant pressure.

    We thought we would get seated earlier based on the Open Table schedule. Had to wait for seating as we arrived just before their actual opening time. Once past the mix-up, the service, appetizers, entrées and dessert were awesome. We were there for a special occasion, which they recognized at the top (a card) and conclusion of the meal (special dessert). Another wonderful experience; they do not disappoint.

    Fabulous service! Our server, Henry, was very warm and personable and anticipated all our needs. He gave great advice on food and drink choices. Food as always was delicious!

    Went to celebrate a birthday and brought a cake with us. They were very supportive and took it right away to their kitchen fridge. After we finished our meal, it was unwrapped with a candle lit, ready to go. They even wrapped the leftover cake in the original container. Steak, as expected, was top tier. Cowboy ribeye is a personal favorite.
