   Roy’s is always great. Scott, the manager greeted us as we came in. We had had a birthday dinner a few days previously. Julian, our waiter, was animated as before. Apps and wine was our choice this night. Everything was as expected. Perfect! This is our go to for fine or casual dining on the Big Island.

   Our experience was likely jaded by the poor service. We arrived and waited 10 minutes to be asked for drinks. After looking at the menu, we ordered and waited another 20+ minutes for our salads to arrive. We needed to ask another waiter to see about refreshing our drinks. We waited another 40 minutes for our meals to arrive even though several other tables that arrived after us were served both salads and dinner. We noticed several other tables were told about specials and dessert options that needed to be ordered at the same time as dinner. Definitely not very good wait service.

   Seated 15 min after our reservation time. Another 10 min until our waitress came by. Ordered all our food and drinks immediately. Dinner came out before any sodas or bar drinks. Immediately asked if we’d like dessert when our food arrived. Waitress was just flustered the whole time, the few instances we saw her. For a restaurant at such a high price point, a calmer more professional experience was expected.

   I was celebrating my birthday and they brought me a dessert a separate dessert plus the one that I chose from the menu instead of providing the one I chose on the house. They did not wish me a happy birthday or sing. I had to ask our server to bring a fresh coke, etc. they were scarce; poor service.

   Waiter did not bring rice that was that was requested. Ordered sherbet and waiter forgot to bring it. Worst service in twenty years of dining at Roy’s

   Our service was over the top. The view of the man made lake was wonderful. Ordered the pineapple upside down cake. Bummer, it was not hit when it arrived. But, we were taken care of. The blue cheese dressing was tasty.

   When we visit we always dine at Roy's and we love it. All the suggestions by our server Nikki were spot on! Spring rolls, great, the Macadamia crusted whitefish, great, the pineapple upside down cake, great! Finally, our server Nikki, Awesome!🌸💮🌸

   We dine at Roy's weekly on Aloha Fridays. There are now nightly specials, so the food never gets boring. Of course, their menu always offers Roy's traditional items. Roy's executive chef Tyler is certainly one of Hawaii's most talented and creative chefs. His food is always beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. Last night, we sat next to a lovely family with two small girls ages 1 and 2. The girls were having a wonderful time since Roy's has one of the island's best children's menus. Roy's is the island's best fine dining restaurant for families with young children. Roy's service is always friendly and attentive. Anyone traveling to the Big Island should definitely dine at Roy's!

    Best meal on island so far and thats about 10 down. Cocktails great and ribeye was perfect. Waiter (sorry name missed) went beyond call of duty. Thank you
