   The Alice in Wonderland Tea Party is one of the best-curated experiences in DC. They set up their tea room - off the main restaurant, overlooking the terrace and Rock Creek Park - with Alice-themed decorations, including bronze statuettes from the book illustrations, the Mad Hatter’s hat, flamingoes, playing cards and more. While that may sound like a lot, it was tasteful and understated while encompassing everything that Alice is. Thankfully, there were no mice in the teapots. The selection of teas was fantastic. There were some teas selected by management, and others that were Disney-branded. My guest and I had the black tea with hints of strawberry, fig and vanilla (one of the Disney teas), and it was perfect. When you drink it, you know you’re drinking a black tea, but the hint of other flavors lightens the taste for a perfect afternoon tea. My guest and I were celebrating his birthday - he is a huge Alice fan. As adults, I was worried that this would be too childish, knowing nothing else about it, but it’s a very adult, refined experience, modeled after and on par with any afternoon tea you could have in London (and even better than some). The finger sandwiches were an incredibly varied selection, all carefully crafted. There wa severything from ham and Brie to olive to crab cake (one of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had). The scones and desserts were also fantastic. Service was incredible. Staff was amazingly attentive and kept bringing sandwiches until we were ready to burst. They brought out a slice of cake (complimentary for the birthday celebration) and even comped a mimosa and a glass of sparkling cider (for the non-drinker) to top off the celebration. The chef even came out to wish a happy birthday. Service was so good I tipped somewhere around 35%. If you or a loved one is an Alice fan (even if you’re not), this is a must-do experience.

   We love Robert’s Restaurant. We live in the neighborhood and have been going there for over a decade for weekend brunch with our two sons, since they were just toddlers. The food is really good. And the space is just beautiful: an elegant but not fancy, open space; 20 foot high vaulted ceilings; huge windows overlooking rock creek park always seeming to let in a fantastic amount of sunlight. The staff is amazing: truly kind and gracious; always smiling, many have been there for a decade or more. What a quiet, calm, and peaceful way to start the day. .

   Great Alice In Wonderland themed tea. This was my favorite childhood novel and Disney movie, so this was right up my alley. The restaurant did a great job with the theme and in a beautiful room that opened to the gardens. They even had music. We were the only ones there, so we felt extra special. The service was great. I highly recommend. My only criticism was that the marketing was weak. It was even hard to figure out whether I was making reservations for the right thing online. All worked out though. For your reference, tea reservations are at 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.

   We enjoyed a delicious meal with excellent service. Any needs were quickly met by their extremely kind and professional staff. We had a wonderful experience.

   Well we didn’t get to have dinner before our show because the hotel closed the restaurant for a private event that day and never informed any of the guest staying at the Omni they would have to find other dining options outside the hotel.

   Always excellent food and drinks and service. I only had an appetizer despond Prosecco but it was still delicious

    We celebrated our 55th anniversary at this restaurant. From the champagne we were served as we arrived, through the sumptuous dinner and the fun banana split we shared for dessert, the service was excellent. In addition, the venue is beautiful with a lovely garden to enjoy. It was 5 star evening.
