Located in the Upper East Side, Tang By MR. SUN offers a unique fusion of Eastern and Western culinary traditions. Our founder envisioned a place where Chinese cuisine is celebrated for its elegance, not just the familiar heavy, oily dishes. We pride ourselves on using premium ingredients, such as filet mignon for our Beef & Broccoli and tiger prawns in our Shrimp Satay. Our culinary journey began with a small eatery near Rockefeller Center, where our seasoned chefs, recruited from China, honed their skills in adapting authentic Chinese flavors to suit the local palate. We've since added a young chef to our team, bringing new flair and modern presentation to our dishes. We invite you to try our signature dishes, including the flavorful Curry Veggies, spicy Kung Pao Chicken, rich Beijing Chicken, savory Beef Rib, luxurious Truffle Scallion Pancake, indulgent Lobster Crunchy Noodles, and sumptuous Creamy King Crab Udon. Join us at Tang to discover a new, refined side of Chinese cuisine.

Decent decor but very green service in the restaurant. Overpriced cuisine that’s not really authentic Chinese Cantonese nor fusion or Americanized cuisine. Ingredients were fresh but dishes didn’t have any “wok Hei” - which is the basis of any decent Chinese dish. Black Pepper Steak sauce was weirdly too sweet. String beans were bland & Fried Lobster in garlic -although fresh- had too much batter & also was pretty bland. Lychee Shrimp balls were creatively executed & presented in a gimmicky way. They were decent but served with/ the wrong sauce. Perhaps, a sauce w/ a bit more acid & spice. Overall, we liked that each dish had quality & fresh ingredients, which is usually very hard to find at Chinese restaurants on the UES. Hopefully, they can work it out & focus on executing more authentic Cantonese flavors & hiring a chef who knows how to cook w/ “wok Hei.” And we’ll be back to try more dishes.
