Chef Billy, is as adept at guiding the novice through the traditional yet contemporary menu as meeting and exceeding the expectations of the sophisticated and experienced dining. Steeped in the tradition, yet anything but conventional, the concept from the 'Kyūto' zen garden base. The reinterpretation of traditional Japanese architectural elements features color and ornaments symbolic to Kyūto. We thoughtfully choose all the tableware, decorated and produced in Kyūto, ranging from antiques to modern designs. 'Many varieties of fish lack desired flavor when served too soon after the catch, hence the need for aging raw sashimi. Dry-aging enhances both taste and consistency by reducing moisture and breaking down the protein, resulting in umami flavor and tenderness.' - Executive Chef Billy

The food was simply delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave us some great recommendations. We tried a variety of dishes. We had the 72-hour slow cooked wagyu skewers and paired it with the Crudo Hirame. We then had the Wagyu Tataki, Wagyu Maki roll, Lion King Maki roll, Hughes Landing Maki roll. We also tried the Akami (14-day aged) sashimi, it was delicious. We tried a few of their cocktails and they were also delicious, we had the Naka, Shiso Fashioned, and the Agave Raindrop. I'd recommend every single one of them. My husband and I will be happy to return.

What’s all the hype? This maybe the best sushi in the Woodlands but that’s a pretty low bar. They are trying hard, but still coming up quite short. Nothing very special. Service was spotty and the plates were pretty unimaginative. We ordered 8 or so different plates. Instead of spacing them out, all came out at the same time crowding the table and making everything get colder all at the same time. I want this place to thrive, but maybe I will have to wait.

Everything about our experience was superb! The greeting, service (thank you Andrew), atmosphere, and the FOOD! Best sushi in The Woodlands by far. We can’t wait to return.

We had a wonderful (first-time) experience here. Spent NYE here for dinner @ 6:00 PM. Plenty of tables available, I guess we were the “early birds.” Made it just in time for their “Social Hour” 5:00 till 6:30 where you can order some of the same dishes with a nominal discount (not heavy duty, but still nice to have). We tried the Cherry Pepper Calamari - DELICIOUS! A bit of sweet & savory explosion on your taste buds. Definitely recommend! We tried a few various more common rolls: “The Wagyu” roll was yummy and something to try out. We didn’t go full out and kept it light since we had plans afterwards involving more food. Overall, we enjoyed our time there and would come back to try more of their signature rolls.

Delicious Japanese and neo-Japanese food. Besides the traditional sushi, the fried oyster mushrooms and curry mussels are great.

Wonderful experience, our waiter was super nice and helpful. The hostess sat us in a quiet spot like we asked for, music was a little loud. Overall it was a great experience for a couple with food allergies. They do have gluten free soy!
