   Nice quaint restaurant in an older section of town. Seems like a local favorite as it was quite busy on a weekday. There were actually 3 parties celebrating birthdays when we dined. We had the Chirashi Sushi bowl and the Salmon Special which were both delicious. Service was good even through the busyness.

   The service is always so friendly and efficient. The restaurant was packed with diners on a Saturday afternoon! Food is always delicious and so well done. We had the freshest sushi also! Always a pleasure to dine here.

   Had the Spring special which was such an amazing deal! Sashimi was so fresh. The clam miso soup was the bomb! The chirashi sushi was the bestest, the layer of shredded shiso enhanced the flavor of the sashimi soup well. My friend and I loved it! And service was just awesome! Kudos to the staff and chefs!

   We really enjoyed the food and service and the sashimi was among the best I’ve had outside of Japan. Surprisingly so, the restaurant wasn’t in great condition and the floors and bathrooms weren’t very clean. I gave the restaurant a four star rating because I weighed the food and service more than the ambience.

   The food is always yummy and authentic. Not too many really good Japanese food restaurants like this around. I’ve never been disappointed by this place! LOVE the staff, service and quality of food

   The miso cod was delicious and two decent sized pieces. The tempera, sushi, and chawanmushi were all delicious! The only thing disappointing was their soba. The texture and taste was sub standard. The service was excellent! We highly recommend unless you want soba. Kaimuki Shokudo has excellent soba. If not for the soba I would have rated 5 stars

    There was about a 20-25 minute wait despite our reservation, but the food more than made up for the delay. Definitely on our short list to return.
