This was by far the best place I’ve eaten at in Tacoma. With a period of people walking around with water, just refilling everybody’s glasses to the helpful staff and friendly managers, not to mention the spectacular view of the sound, Woven has secured their spot among our favorite places to eat and will be visiting here often.

We were looking forward to trying this new restaurant as we knew the waterfront location would not disappoint however, it was not the same of our dining experience there. Our reservation was at 6:30, we arrived on time (they give a 10 minute late grace for guests) there was a long line at the hostess desk just to check in. After check in, we waited another 15 minutes to be seated. The decor is tastefully done but the acoustics are super loud making it difficult for conversation and certainly not much for romance. A nice touch is a complimentary bowl of tastefully seasoned edamame with your water to the table. Which was good, because it took forever (over 15 minutes) for our waiter to arrive (who apologized for taking so long) to take our drink order. The cocktails were good and for me the best part. From the wine list I ordered the Veuve Clicquot split. After 10 minutes or so the waiter and came back to let us know they were out. So, I ordered a "by the glass" sparkling rose that was bare-ly sparkling, but I did not bother to bring that up. For dinner I ordered from the a la carte section the Wagyu beef, roasted potatoes and asparagus. I received mashed potatoes the waiter apologized and brought me back the roasted potatoes I ordered. When I took a bite of the beef- it had that smell that meat has when it is turning bad... I have a very sensitive nose and could not bring myself to eat more than a couple of bites because I couldn't get past the smell. My husband and niece enjoyed their Poke bowls which I was glad about. He asked if I did not like my meal and by this time (The movie Waiting was running through my mind) I just said don't worry about it-he asked if I wanted a box and I said no thank you. It was my nieces birthday, he comped her dessert which was decent enough. I over heard the manager at the table behind us comping a couples meal due to some problem. Then the same waiter apologizing to them as well. I may go back as I do believe in 2nd chances.

We had the short ribs and crab dip. It was phenomenal. The short ribs were so tender and flavorful. Definitely coming back next week!

Great waterfront location, fun and interesting menu. The food was very good, with a minor presentation error. I ordered a dish that was supposed to be served over pappardelle, but came on spaghetti instead. No mention of that from the wait staff. I was just a little put off by the price. Dinner for two with wine and dessert, nearly $200. I’m not from around here, so maybe that’s normal, just a little sticker shock for me.

Setting was nice. Service was poor. Server inattentive . We poured our own wine. Food was cold when delivered. Steak was good. Salmon bland. The bread offering at $6 for two small pieces of bread was a ripoff. I will recommend that family and friends stay away until service and food quality improve. It was our anniversary and our experience did not meet our expectations.

The sushi and drinks were good. However, my entree (filet mignon) lacked flavor, was served with mashed potatoes that were gummy in texture and a sauce that was just...bad. It also lacked any kind of crust, instead was just a hunk of gray meat. Also, we paid $6 for "bread and butter' that was one (1) slice of bread cut in half and toasted. Yes, a single slice of bread for SIX DOLLARS. It was comical. The kitchen was also incredibly slow with getting food out and we were there for over 2 hours for 2 appetizers, 1 slice of mediocre and overpriced toast, and 2 meals.

Dear Ron, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your valuable feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed your sushi and drinks. We regret to hear that the rest of your meal, including the food, pricing, and timing missed the mark. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, but also on our commitment to making improvements when we don't get it right the first time. We’d love to hear more about your visit. Please feel free to contact our Director of Food and Beverage, Ryan Steele via private message on OpenTable. We look forward to connecting. We hope you’ll consider a future meal with us; we’d be grateful for the opportunity to make a better impression. Sincerely, The Woven Seafood & Chophouse Team
