   We did a prix fixe for Valentine’s dinner. It was about 45 minutes before the drinks arrived. The food was borderline. The atmosphere was the best part. I think this is probably a cool hotel lounge in its own right that overreached for what it could accomplish. Probably wouldn’t go back.

   Superb prix fixe menu for Valentine’s Day. One distinctive and very positive feature of the meal: Portion sizes were just right for a four course meal: Each course’s quantity was satisfying but not excessive. As a result, by the end of the meal, we felt pleased, not stuffed (thankfully). Also, each dish was flavorful, inventive yet relatively simple. The restaurant’s vibe was lively and interesting. (Also, the Malbec we ordered was very good and reasonably priced (for a restaurant!).)

   For the money, this place is not worth it. I also want to note that I am a bit of a foodie so my expectations may be a bit higher than some. The servers were friendly but slow. The food came out looking good, but there was little to no taste. I’d say the overall service was slow, too. It took forever for us to get our drinks and food, which were nothing special. We went for the Valentine’s Day special, which wasn’t worth the almost $300 for two people. If you want to go here and still get a good meal, you might be better off going for lunch or dinner and skipping the special. The bar area was so noisy that I had to move to the patio. For the prices they’re asking, I feel that it is way below what I would expect to get. I could have gone to a lot of places that are a lot better for that price.

   Food was good. Avoid the bar area for seating because it’s very loud. The biggest issue is service. A lot of time it felt like our server abandoned us. Other reviews echo this issue. I don’t know why they can’t figure this out and fix it.

   Good food and drinks are to be found at this nice staple of beautiful downtown Sarasota. Located inside a nice hotel, on the ground level. Though the food is good, the very best compliment to give to this spot is, in a city where almost every restaurant shuts - down about two hours earlier than they ought to, this fine spot actually keeps their kitchen open to a decent hour into the evening 😀. And has a decent bar business for afterwards, too .

   We sat outside on the beautiful terrace and had Christine as our waitress. She was lovely and efficient and all the food was superb. Very creative menu with lots of choices for everyone in our group, from the vegetarian to the carnivore. The two fish dishes we ordered were exceptional. Highly recommend this new addition to the Sarasota dining scene.

    Hamburger was not in the top ten burgers I’ve had in Sarasota. Not even close. Service and atmosphere very good, though. Parking a challenge due to location.
