Marilyn, our server, was helpful in suggesting sides to go with our meal, checked back often to make sure we were doing ok and about the food quality. The restaurant was busy with 4-5 large groups of people in addition to the 2 and 4 person tables being full. The kitchen and food runners kept orders coming out timely and hot. The general atmosphere was festive with all table having a good experience.

Our family always celebrates dinner at the waterfront annually to watch the Christmas ships. Honestly, I would have preferred Twigs, however their reservations were all sold out. The hostess/host were very gracious, however, when it came to our personal server, Kai, he was very abrupt and immediately told me and my family that there was a time limit on their tables of 2 hours because 1 member from our party was who was coming from Portland, was running slight behind due to traffic. Also the ships were running that night, hence the time limit. Perfectly understandable, however, I’ve never been to a restaurant where a party who is paying for a rather high price (I might add) for not just the food, but also the experience only to be highly disappointed particularly by the rudeness and distasteful approach the personal server (Kai) paid myself and our party after paying close to $400 for just 4 people through the constant reminders that we were being time!! Thanks Wildfin and especially to your rude server Kai. We will not be returning to your establishment ever again. Thank goodness there are more higher end restaurants to choose from on the waterfront that will be getting our business.

Our service staff was fantastic. The food not so much. Calamari thick and chewy. Two of our fish entrees were over cooked. — at a seafood place Dessert portions large and super sweet.

Wonderful experience. It was super busy with the Christmas Ship Parade, but Kai made us feel as if we were his only table. The hosts were super accommodating also. Great seafood and filet. Can't wait to go back.

We had looked forward to a special family dinner at Wildfin, especially excited for the Christmas ships viewing, which had become our new tradition. I made sure to book our reservation well in advance on November 5th, and immediately called to secure a window seat to ensure the best experience for my daughters, explaining that the highlight of our visit was to watch the ships. I was transparent about our needs and was assured by the host that reducing our party size would guarantee a window table. However, our experience did not meet the expectations set by this initial interaction. Upon arrival, we were taken to a table at the back of the restaurant and told that window seats were allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, which contradicted the earlier assurance. An empty window table caught my eye, and upon inquiry, the host placed a reserved sign on it while checking if it was available and said it was not because it was reserved for a friend of an employee with a later reservation, which is weird since I had just been told they can’t reserve window seats, and by policy if they’re first come first serve, our reservation should have taken priority since the other guests reservation was later. This treatment made us feel second-class and unwelcome, particularly frustrating since I had called ahead to ensure there would be no issues. After a 30-minute delay past our reservation time, we were seated near the window, 5 minutes after empty table was sat for the friends of the employee. Despite the rocky start, the food was excellent, and our server brought some warmth to our evening, but it was hard to shake off the initial disappointment. It was a challenge to enjoy the meal, the situation made me uneasy and anxious, and most of it ended up in takeout boxes. This experience has left us with mixed feelings about returning to Wildfin. While the food and our server were great, I was clearly treated different on the basis of what felt pretty similar to nepotism.

Wildfin is a fun place to dine on the beautiful Vancouver riverfront. For starters, the seafood chowder is outstanding. And not to be missed, the warm potato & rosemary bread with fig butter & chive butter is delicious. I enjoyed a chicken caesar chopped salad with romaine, kale & arugula & toasted quinoa & farro. My husband had a tasty pan-seared sword fish with a tomato/champagne viniagarette. A potatoe or rice side would have been appreciated. We finished the meal with delicious mini donuts in a caramel sauce & shared a spanish coffee. Service was excellent. Prices are ok, but getting on the high side. Overall, a good dining exoerience.
