I was excited to try a new seafood restaurant, as Utah has a very limited selection. The food was mediocre. They were out of oysters and a few other seafood selections, which was odd. The Tuna Tartare had too much avocado and not enough Tuna.

The place looks great.we were seated quickly. The food was good. I had the blackened yellowtail. It was perfect. The others liked their dishes okay but agreed mine was the best. The only complaint really was that the e shrimp had the tails on. This was true in our appetizer and the shrimp and grits. Both were saucy items with no logical reason to make the guest get their fingers all gooey to remove their own tails. Take the time to remove them when it’s not a shrimp cocktail. Please. Will be back for the yellowtail not for the shrimp dishes.

WildFin invoked great expectations for our dining experience because they advertised wild Pacific salmon. The decor was stunning, but at 8:00 pm we were the ONLY couple dining. It was not a good sign. Maybe other diners were there earlier, but we were a little apprehensive. Our instinct was warranted. The menu was different from what we were looking for; but we went there for the advertised “sustainable wild caught Pacific salmon”. The server brought the menu and indicated unavailable items on the menu. My boyfriend asked the server about the salmon. Server said it was wild caught Pacific sockeye salmon. I ordered the sole and boyfriend ordered the salmon. The seasonal salad comprised fresh mixed greens and veggies with flavorful vinaigrette dressing and the seafood chowder was very good too. The sole dish was lightly breaded and fried served with“Bob’s Red Mill”farro. Odd that the menu referenced the brand of farro. The salmon dish was beautifully prepared and looked good, but it was NOT sockeye salmon and suspect it wasn’t even wild or Pacific. We eat wild Alaskan or Pacific salmon ONLY at least 3 times a week at home or at restaurants and definitely know what it looks like. My boyfriend is also an experienced fisherman and has salmon fished in Alaska many times. This salmon served was pale peachy pink with a perfectly square-shaped portion too thick to be sockeye. Sockeye has a thinner deep red filet. My boyfriend explained to the server that this wasn’t sockeye and sent it away. The server didn’t acknowledge the deception and asked what else he could bring. Surprisingly, the chef appeared at the kitchen door and glared at my boyfriend when the new meal came. My boyfriend stared back until he went back into the kitchen. We finished quickly and couldn’t wait to leave. This restaurant promotes itself as serving responsibly sourced/ sustainable seafood. Unfortunately, we didn’t witness that philosophy during this visit. Very disappointing

The food was not as good as it has been in the past for me. We have dined here several times and the service was slow and the food was not quiet as good as it has been in the past.

We always have such a fun time at WildFin. Jessy at the bar takes good care of us. We had a new spicy tuna on crispy rice appetizer that was oh so good. We also shared their delicious IPA battered fish and chips. The cod was succulent and the outside ever so crispy. Fries salty and very crisp-just the way we like them. Apple-cabbage slaw with cranberries was sweet and creamy. Cold drinks, good wines and good service.
