This place use to be a favorite but has gone bad. The drink and food menu and offerings are still full, hearty and tasty but it is a shame they can't deliver on the easiest of tasks for any resturant. My party of two actually walked in with out a reservation and the maitre'd proceeded to explain there were no tables available when I could plainly see the resturant was 1/4 full. She insisted all the other tables were reserved and the completely empty bar area was the only place to sit. I promptly pulled out my Open Table app, noticed there were current reservations available for the current time and every 15 minutes there after. Magically after reserving a table she sat us at a table. WTF??? As far as the meal - and I've eaten at this resturnat many times over the years since its opening - it was bland and emply, e.g., Seafood Gumbo seemed to be watery and had a "single" piece of seafood. The drink clearly was partially poured and I questioned if it even had any whiskey in it. Oh then after a bland dinner, we figured well let's have some dessert so we didn't go away hungry. Well, it was not even 8pm and apparently they had no Decaf coffee. When I asked the server if they could make a new pot, she responded "No, we dont have any actual coffee to make it!" Again WTF? To top it off she insults my guest by saying " Why would you want Decaf, I'm from Columbia and we drink real coffee." Ok, thank you for input. Going forward, HARD PASS.

Good fun and a nice atmosphere. Really loved the spinach, of all things! Nice choice of bourbon old-fashioneds. My friend tried to order a cocktail not on the menu and was told the bar couldn't accommodate. Oh well.

We tried crab cakes, clam chowder, oysters and scallops. They were all perfectly prepared. I had my dream meal! So pleased we tried this restaurant.

Disappointed- it was below average. fiery mac and cheese was cold and dry. Rockfish tasted like something from a cafeteria. Presentation was no different than a meal at grandma's.

Unfortunately, my husband and I got shellfish poisoning after eating raw oyster from Whiskey and Oyster. We also had the seafood gumbo which was terrible. The duck spring rolls were good but the sauce they put on it was cold. The clam chowder was pretty good 6/10 could use more flavor. Our server was excellent. She was very attentive and personable.

We came for $1 oyster night, which is always fun. The food is always good, and the drinks complimented the meal very well.

Just ok. Tried several items (not oysters) and everything seemed to lack depth and flavor especially the Lobster Mac.

Starters: Both the raw (Back Bay) and grilled oysters (we chose the chimichurri sauce) were outstanding! Perfect salinity, quite generous in size. I had steamed mussels in cider- the mussels were plentiful and tasty, but I found the cider/caramelized onions/ bacon broth to be understated at best. It comes with two large grilled pieces of bread. My husband had the generous and delicious grilled lobster cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries. Others in our party enjoyed the crab cake sandwich (delicious) and the regular steamed mussels (which I wish I’d gotten). All in all, a shellfish paradise.
