   The server was super pleasant and responsive to our needs. The problem was that we had so many complications. My companion is vegan so ordered a salad with no cheese. It arrived with cheese. Had to send it back. Two of us at table, only one got a glass of water, and only one of us was given a fork. I ordered breakfast (steak) tacos, and they arrived without steak. They brought me a thimble of steak instead of reconstructing it in the kitchen. The tortilla fell apart at this point and I couldn't pick it up with my hands, so I sent it back. The chicken sandwich I opted for was pretty good though. This was just a brunch. Not a dinner. Nothing complicated. There should not have been a need for our server to give us multiple apologies. I know brunch is the least-desirable shift, but at these prices, maybe staff your place with some grownups? Because now you're a hard no for dinner or any other time of day. Quite a disappointment.

   In general, I love True Food Kitchen. The food is very healthy, and as someone who can't eat gluten, I feel safe here. But recently, service has very slow and the food has been arriving at the table cold.

   Fairly underwhelming. Service was quite slow; our food took nearly an hour to arrive despite only four or fiver other tables being seated late on a Monday night. Server was very slow to take orders, and one of our dishes was completely incorrect. Food was decent and reasonably priced, so this may be better as a take-out option over dine-in.

   We were seated quickly. The waiter was extremely attentive and made suggestions when we asked. The food was delicious. I am vegetarian and had the brussels sprouts and Korean noodle bowl. My husband had a steak and our friends had a hamburger and a salad. We also had a variety of appetizers. The food was all delicious. We took our time and we’re not rushed. We will definitely be back.

   First impression started with reserving on OpenTable, where I could not update my reservation from 11:30am to 11am and had to settle for 11:15am. This would’ve been fine if the restaurant had been busy when we arrived. In fact, there were only two other tables occupied. Staff were welcoming and the brunch menu was varied and interesting. It took longer than expected for the server to come to our table, although both other tables were not his responsibility. He was pleasant and helpful, as we made our selections with his input. We received our beverages and food in a timely manner and all of it looked appetizing and we were thrilled with our selections. The breakfast bowl with steak was yummy and flavorful. The breakfast tacos were challenging to eat, due to the corn tortillas tearing open and dumping their contents. Although the tortillas were dry and flavorless, the steak and other ingredients were very nice. The black bean side dish lacked salt (or any seasoning) and were swimming in water(?) - again lacking flavor, but the sauce served as an accompaniment was wonderful. I would not order the breakfast tacos if I returned. Acoustics are challenging. The music was loud and the noises from the open kitchen space dominated - especially when the juicer was used. The juicer should not be in this open space and was quite disturbing. I can only imagine the volume level with more occupied tables and more juicing required. Portion sizes were on the smaller side for the prices and we ordered a muffin to top off the meal. Please note, the muffin is quite small. The “True Food” concept appeals to us and we will likely return and try some other menu items in the future.

    So, I’ve already written a review of TFK but it’s worth doing another one because of how excellent the food is and equally as important is the service, which is simply superb. My daughter and I generally come here every other week and between Jesse and Justin we are always extremely well taken care of…lovely people.
