We had a wonderful dining experience today at Trattoria Romana in Johnston! The food was delicious, the drinks were great and the ambiance was quiet. Our server, Jessica was great! We will be returning soon!

Partially due to New Year’s Eve my reservation for 7pm at the bar, made weeks in advance, was 30 minutes late. Bar tender seemed very stressed and when I tried to lighten up the moment she took it in a negative way and said I shouldnt harass the people that handle my food. When I said maybe the owner would be interested in her response she said “ go ahead and call him” The rest of the night she was less than friendly and put a damper on our night. I have patronized this establishment at various locations for many years and have never experienced this type of poor service. We ordered and very nice bottle of wine and it seemed like we were bothering her when asked to decanter it. She had the other bartender serve it. Someone should explain to this server that it’s called the Hospitality Business for a reason. Even with the poor experience I believe I left a generous tip for the server because that’s what I do. Thanks for listening.

Had a reservation at the bar and checked in with the hostess who told us to go check in with a bartender “if we could battle through the crowd to make it to the bar.” Bartender told us there would be a 15 minute wait which turned into an hour and we were eventually told to just hover and fight for a seat when one opened up…so essentially a reservation isn’t actually a reservation. Once we got seats service and food were fine but not impressed with how reservations are handled.

Usually I give this restaurant 5 stars but this night we went and my chicken was undercooked almost raw . Likely I didn’t get sick . Probably won’t be back

The menu on open table was not accurate. This restaurant does not serve the lunch menu/prices in the month of December. The food was ok, but had always been great before this visit. We had to ‘flag’ down our server multiple times to get what we needed. Overall the visit was disappointing.
