   Extremely pleased overall with the Xmas Eve dinner experience (ordered from the set menu) because of the great service by Gregory, waiter, and the outdoor Sommelier, name forgotten, as well as the quality, presentation, and variety of dishes (Caviar blini, rib eye, and desserts were great). Service by other staff was omnipresent without being intrusive. Wine list is immense but bottles weren't the thing for my group and thus we were happy to have the sommelier provide guidance about drinks by the glass. Sat outdoor which was not too pleasant even if heat lamps abounded and blankets were offered. The gain in space was offset by the cooler temperature and the (too) casual look of many customers outdoors (not the same for the crowd indoors). Anyways, this was a nice way to pass an Xmas eve and definitely would consider this restaurant when next searching for a fine dining experience.

   Our server is the best! I didn’t catch her name hit she had on amazing glasses and worked at VP for 24 years. Please thank her for us! She made our experience so enjoyable

   This is our second time here and we definitely think it’s a special occasion sort of experience. With a seasonal menu you may not always receive what you see online or in reviews/photos but you’ll usually find something you want to order without too many upgrades but depending on your taste you may want to do a $5-$125 upgrade. The cocktails and wines we had were good but if you’re doing a really special event like an engagement or anniversary and prefer to bring a special bottle the corkage fee is $75 and well worth it if you have a really unique or important bottle. Service was mostly good but keep in mind this is a sit down experience that is not to be rushed. You can book the private dining room which we have done before and if you book outside even for night time the patio is quite enjoyable and still warm enough. They may want to consider changing their doorway mat more during rainy season to decrease the musky wet smell you get when you first walk in but the candles and other decor help. They did charge us for a wine bottle we didn’t have ($240) and we had to ask them to remove it so be careful but a true honest mistake, just wish they admitted it better and gave us a reason to not question it going forward like a credit to the restaurant or something. We specifically enjoyed the tuna or beets app, entrees of lobster, duck, or seabass, and beignets as dessert

   When ever I dine at VP, and especially if Melody is taking care of me and my guests, I feel like I've had a personal invitation to dine with very special friends. The cuisine is always the best I've ever tasted, no matter what I order. The heartfelt love of fine food and fine dining resonate from every one of the Pub's service staff. This time, the morning after - my memories of the truffled pasta, the fennel-crusted seared tuna and the bass surrounded by the finest-ever lentils and veggies were in still in my taste buds, along with the awesome (emphasize AWESOME) chai-flavored cake. What a pleasure!

    Consistently fantastic food and one of the best fine dining cocktail menus as well. Beautiful dining room, impeccable friendly service. The only thing I could possibly complain about is the 4% junk fee they tack on. For $250+ /person junk fees should not pop up on the bill.
