THE VANE ARMS THORPE THEWLES
Located in the beautiful historic village of Thorpe Thewles, just off the A177 between Stockton-on-Tees and Sedgefield, The Vane Arms is a stunning recently-refurbished restaurant offering high quality bistro style dishes with a twist on traditional pub classics.

Our focus is on serving the best available ingredients that our team of highly skilled chefs can transform into show-stopping, delicious dishes that are perfect for both special occasions and casual dining, complemented by a thoughtfully curated wine list and drinks menu.

In the summer months, our beautiful garden offers the option of enjoying your meal outside with fantastic views, and we recently created a private dining space packed with traditional character ideal for parties and celebrations.

                        Sunday lunch excellent as always. Was there last week at 5pm & it was as good as yesterday when we revisited with family at 1pm. It was extremely busy but service was quick and smooth. Staff were polite and not harassed as they could have been as I say it was so busy. Recommend that you can go anytime and be really satisfied but if you want a quieter experience maybe go later in afternoon.

                        We had Sunday lunch ( 2nd time we’ve had it ) & once again excellent. We had a late booking - last table if the day & thought we may get left overs but no everything fresh & delicious. We actually ordered cauliflower cheese as extra but to be honest we didn’t need it there were so many vegetables. The staff are polite and not overbearing. So happy we have booked again for next Sunday & bringing family. Thank you.

                        Overall a good wee pub. However, if you are vegetarian they have one main option and it's clearly not something they do often as it's the equivalent to a microwave pasta. Others at the table ordered steak which had do be returned as it was ordered rare and came well done. Staff are nice and the vibe is good, just lacks quality for the price of the menu.

                        Today we took advantage of the restaurant week offer which was 3 courses for £20 and it was amazing , great choice and beautiful food . Service was great and the atmosphere was perfect . Highly recommend
