The Tickell Arms is the 5th pub/restaurant to join the Cambscuisine stable. A fantastic Grade 2 listed building with a new conservatory overlooking its iconic pond. The food is Modern British/European with an emphasis on locally sourced, fresh, seasonal ingredients. The menu changes every 2 months with a specific cut of meat, fish, fowl or game being the focus of each menu. The Tickell is also a traditional country pub with wood burning stoves, great real ales and a very well considered wine list.
The Tickell Arms is a former coaching inn which was transformed into a country pub/restaurant in the 1960's by the flamboyant Kim Tickell. With it's striking blue exterior, eclectic and eccentric decor and service it gained a level of notoriety. Kim Tickell passed away in 1991 and afterwards the building lost a lot of its lustre & appeal. It had been closed 2 years before we undertook a major refurbishment to restore it to something approaching its former glory.

a very nice meal with fantastic service in a lovely setting. We drove 1.5 hours to meet relatives "halfway" at the Tickell and we will definitely be back.

Dynamic fresh fish oriented menu with specials now dumbed down in line with most local gastro pubs. Now no longer special, but as good as any in the area. Thankfully still has selection of good local draught beers but otherwise the opportunity to be different has been squandered.

Excellent birthday dinner, service friendly and professional. Great seasonal food with range to suit most tastes. One pudding not quite right and we were offered a reduction on bill with no fuss. Wine list good and reasonably priced. Conservatory dining room works well with lovely views of the garden. We have visited a few times. Quality and service consistently good.

What could better than to be in the company of loved ones at a restaurant with a menu from which the most significant lady in your life says she could choose everything, food that matches the description and 'off the beaten track' wines of the South-West by the glass or by the bottle to bathe the experience?

Great food (including for two vegetarians - peas with attitude), excellent service, atmosphere full of character, and altogether very enjoyable evening. Chose to be inside, but garden also looks lovely.

Had lunch here on a Sunday before going to Duxford American Air Show with some American friends. Had accidentally found this place some time ago and it was so good then that it seemed a really good choice for our visitors. It was.

Great quirky place to visit for a nice lunch or evening meal. Good choice of food on the menu, and exceptionally fresh and tasty well presented food. The only let down on this occasion was the service from start to finish was incredibly slow, hence why we didn't bother waiting any longer ordering deserts. Hopefully this was a one off and will return again one day.

Beautiful location and absolutely stunning, but not extortionate, good English food. I also love the addition of Blackadder in the lavatories - much better than ambient music!
