Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
The Third Floor boasts a "beautiful terrace" with delightful ambiance, making it perfect for romantic getaways or business lunches. Guests appreciate the "friendly and attentive" service and the inviting space, both indoors and outdoors. While some dishes could improve, the "scrumptious" charcuterie and exquisite cocktails are highlights.

everything was as it should be, and as expected. the physical space is amazing - it must have cost several fortunes to create it. the spiral staircase with bronze totem is a thing to marvel at. one odd thing: one of our waiters asked us several times, 'is everything treating you ok?' or, 'how is everything treating you?' funny that we should remember that, but it is an odd question to get from a waiter. it's neither good nor back, just odd. we would not hesitate to return.

Fine decor and helpful service. The kitchen is slow/uncoordinated and food arrived cold. Better venue for cocktail hour than full dining.

The best hamburger ever… Service was quite spot on… It has a very urban feel… It feels as if you’re in Manhattan rather than San Francisco… the hotel is exquisite… It feels like the perfect place for a honeymoon

Hmmm….. Let me start by saying that staff was outstanding! But the rest….. really lackluster. Highlights would have to be the drinks and the duck soup (aka duck wonton soup) but it was waaaay overpriced. The croquettes were nasty. Sorry after coming from Spain they really were. And the short rib skewers were meh. Aesthetics wise, the bar was on point. However, fail on the balance of the restaurant. It really was a Denny’s that basically served alcohol. Won’t return. It was a really sad ambiance.

Quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Got there with 6 business associates and the place was empty (should have been a warning). Waiter was completely non responsive. Took an hour to get our drinks and some crappy starters. Left to grab some Chinese food at a local joint. Avoid this dump like the plague.

Prices were high, for example $11 for a kids’ apple juice. Dinner and drinks were decent, but compared to restaurants nearby not especially memorable. I thought the breakfast options were better, with fresh dishes and standard pricing for a nice hotel.

One of my favorite secret spots in SF for a breakfast or coffee with a friend or colleague, or to hide away alone in between meetings.

Honestly nice ambience but food is decent and took forever to come out. Perfect place for aesthetic pictures though if you’re into that.

After reading other reviews I was optimistic for this experience but unfortunately it turned out to very much be just a standard hotel restaurant with mediocre service at best and promising but not quite delivering food. We stopped for a breakfast brunch on a Saturday morning while we had time to pass in the area. The initial server was less than helpful in even attempting to address a simple coffee request. (My dining mate actually went down the street and got the mocha they were seeking and brought it back.) The second sever who came over was a bit more welcoming and did check on us. When we asked for butter for the toast they brought a huge ramekin with enough butter for a loaf of bread, which we found odd. Food wise, the two omelets ordered at the table came out luke warm and one of them was missing ingredients. The burger was tasty and well some though. Recommend a pass on The Third Floor.
