   We went for a quiet Sunday lunch and were disappointed by the ambiance and social noise. It is very good for families with children who seem to have the run of the restaurant. Food and service were good.

   Very high standard of food with good service. Had never had a meal at this restaurant but would definitely recommend and we will return

   Nice food, very efficient and friendly service, particularly from Paul our waiter. Restaurant is a little cool if your table is near the bar. Worse thing was that at 9.10 we were told that as the pastry chef was going home we had to order our suite, even though we were still eating our main at the time! Not what we would have expected when paying these prices

   I’ve been to the Stables many times and while expensive, it has always been nice until now. We went with some friends for my birthday celebration. We ordered 4 meals. 2 came out within 10 minutes of ordering and the other 2 took an addition 35 minutes to come out. So half of our party was done eating before the other half was even served. No one seemed to know what was going on when we could flag down a server even though the restaurant was empty. There was no apology and no discount for this terrible experience. We will never be spending money there again. Absolutely awful service and no care for customers.

   Nice evening at Stables. Still I find it pricey for what it is, but the staff make up for it. Food good.

   Lovely Sunday roast. The host, gentleman did not get his name, was very good. Apologised for the delay in serving mains as they were just serving for the wedding in the barn. I can honestly say we had not noticed a delay at all. Was a very relaxed enjoyable lunch.

   We went to The Stables for Valentines Day. It was a 6 course set meal for £65 which on paper looked promising, but sadly in the flesh was very underwhelming and was certainly not worth the money. We had a table facing a wall (so not overly atmospheric), service was fine but unfortunately that was the only redeeming feature.

   Food was excellent and the venue is perfect. Paul was very attentive and waited on us perfectly. All staff were friendly and helpful.

    Overall we enjoyed our meal, nothing really wrong with it. But the menu and pricing made us expect something special and out of the ordinary. Sadly the cost did not equate to the experience we expected. As an example one of us opted for the burger, it was enjoyed (but perhaps not more than bought elsewhere for more like half the price), £21 for a burger really seems excessive. Staff were very good, although a steak was ordered and no steak knife was offered or given. A nice setting, with a lot of potential, but not quite hitting the spot, so can’t see us returning.
