   We love the Greystone Inn Restaurant and frequent often. This visit missed the mark. Our server was great but the food was average. The sides came out 15 minutes before our dinner…had to send them back because they were cold when our food came. Three out of four entrees ordered were disappointing. Hoping for a better experience next time.

   One of our favorite restaurants anywhere. The views, food, and service are above expectation. The prices are high so we couldn’t eat here consistently but it is definitely worth it when we can. The Greystone and this restaurant have been a part of our anniversary celebrations 4 times now

   Firstly, we love the Greystone and have been there multiple times. Yesterday we went with another couple for the Valentines Dinner. We went early and had cocktails in the lounge at the Inn. Lovely. Then we went over to the dining area. We were then told we had to eat downstairs in another room (on banquet chairs) because we had a party of 4. A big part of the draw of dining there is the outstanding main dining room…we started off disappointed. So we went back outside and down the stairs…but the door was locked. And then the room was not 100% ready. And we were the only guests in the room most of the dinner- so the waitress spent most of her time (understandably) upstairs. The food was fine- as promoted. But I do not recommend anything other than the main dining area. I will be back- but I will make sure of the dining location first.

   Great steaks, duck and salmon, desserts were very well done. Extensive wine list. One of the best dining venues in Western NC, new owners are delivering quality experiences with Lakeside Dining, the Mansion and The Greystone Inn and Spa on Lake Toxaway.

   We were there for a milestone birthday dinner and had a delightful waiter! We arrived earlier than our reservation but was able to be seated right away. The butternut squash soup was delicious as was the Caesar salad and pork tenderloin. The veal saltimbocca was good but was a little tough, overcooked maybe. My only issue was being charged for another cup of coffee, rather than having refills. The view of lake was nice, was a cold blustery night. The ambiance and fireplace inside made for a lovely birthday celebration! We will come back!

   Food is always good. Service is puzzling. Staff seems to hide. A bottle of wine order always seems like they ran down the road to a store to find what you ordered. Staff is nice but could be more attentive and available. Price is very fair for the quality.
