   Overall, fab ambience, Lovely efficient floor staff, very good quality fresh tasty food . Main points: The fish and chips 2 pieces of delicious fresh fish & batter not too thick. Lasagne was unusual, not as expected. Tasty very tender beef strips possibly pulled beef in a very rich sauce topped with large parmesan shavings with only little pasta and no bechamel sauce. Not to the taste of person who ordered. Tasty although not what expected for lasagne. Put it down to being very much an alternative version of lasagne. The vegeterian pasta dish was lovely. Soup and sandwich was very tasty and substantial. We will definitely go back .

   Still teething after its opening. Service a bit random with pleasant but inexperienced young staff. Food was ok but the menu is a bit imbalanced and the descriptors need some work, e.g. cheese and meat starter wasn't the expected small platter but a rocket salad with mozzarella and a few pieces of salami. Tasted ok but I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known what it was. Had the celeriac steak as a main which was nice if not a bit on the small side for £20. Overall I'd give it a couple more goes before deciding if I was going to become a regular.

   We were well looked after and had a great table for our special birthday celebration. Service and food was amazing.

   Table for 6 on Saturday 28th December. I think everyone had a different main course and all were happy with their choice. The decor and compartmentalising of the restaurant creates cozy spaces but allows the buzz of other diners to filter through. Good value for money too. People should be reminded this is more of a bistro experience not a high end restaurant. The staff were young, but proficient, bubbly and helpful. We would definitely go back here👍👍👍👍

   Beautiful place, some of the staff were great some weren’t very attentive. We had previously been for a pizza and enjoyed it so we returned to try the rest of the menu. My daughter ordered mozzarella sticks and chicken from the small plates and we shared some fries. Mozz was lovely. Good size portion Chicken was 2 tiny strips and they were dry ans massively overcooked. She couldn’t even cut them with her knife. I ordered scallop ravioli as a main. When it came I assumed the waitress had accidentally ordered me the starter size. It was 3 scallops and about 6 small ravioli. It tasted nice but when the bill came it was a main at £18. My husband also had 2 small plates. First was prawns with sourdough bread. For some reason they served the prawns and sauce on the bread and it had clearly been sitting for a while. It was lukewarm and the bread had gone all gloopy so the texture wasn’t very nice. His other small plate was the meat and cheese. It was ok but nothing more than we could have knocked up at home and it was a little thrown together. It’s a shame as the portion size of my pasta, and quality of something as simple as chicken in breadcrumbs let them down (and we are not greedy) I wish I’d taken pictures but we have a no phones at the table rule. We saw other people ordering pasta bolognaise and it looked and smelled amazing and seemed a normal portion you would expect. Last comment on drinks. Great selection of soft drinks but - only alcohol free beer, no other alcohol free options which is poor in this day and age and the price of a 1 glass of wine is more than a pizza so although we may have had a second glass it felt like an extravagance at £25 for 2. I feel like they are close to being a great choice but still quite a few things to work out I’m afraid. I really hope they are successful though. The venue was beautiful.

   This was our first time at The Red Herring. We were a party of 4 adults and two young children. Everyone was so well catered for. The food was truly delicious, wine choices exceptional and the waiting staff couldn’t do enough for us, very attentive. Be back soon!

   Party all had various sandwiches with skinny fries , and a child’s portion fish chips followed by ice cream. No complaints and everyone cleared their plate. No Christmas decor , Wi-Fi not working and Childs menu not available, also it would be nice to be served by only only server , we had several playing all different parts , seemed a little disjointed but on the whole the food was nice ..

    Food was amazing, and the staff were wonderful, very attentive and helpful. It was a Christmas family meal, 2toddlers and the staff were brilliant. We’ll be back!!
