Set in the picturesque Southern Cotswolds village of Sherston, The Rattlebone Inn is a classic English country pub, rich with charm and character. Led by Head Chef Roger Payne, our menu celebrates locally-sourced ingredients, offering juicy steaks, seasonal game, fresh fish, homemade desserts, and artisan cheeses. Chef Payne’s creations blend classic pub favorites with innovative dishes, making it the best food in the area.

Our cosy interior and fully heated, well-ventilated garden offer comfort year-round. We pride ourselves on high-quality real ales, a wine list with over 30 selections, a fine malt whiskey collection, and specialty cocktails.

The Rattlebone is a community hub, hosting regular events and themed food nights. For larger gatherings, our back restaurant, skittle alley, and garden can accommodate private dining, BBQs, hog roasts, or even a giant paella. Visit us for great food, drink, and warm hospitality.

                                                                        Arrived early to a quiet restaurant. Was taken to a tiny table at the back of the building in a very cold area. Being disabled and feeling the cold, we asked if we could move to a warmer and bigger table. We were told “No, I can’t change the table”. Ordered a bottle of still water and was given two glasses of tap. Staff did not know the menu. After we ordered, waitress came back to table to tell us that as we were early we would have to wait a while to be served. Absolutely no customer service. Not recommended.

                                                                        Hi Julie, We take all criticism constructively and we're sorry you didn't have a great experience. Unfortunately for a very busy Sunday lunch service it is imperative to the successful operation of the service to keep to your designated seating time. On a Sunday we simply could not accommodate a diner an hour early. We wish you had stayed for longer than 10 minutes so you could A.see the restaurant fill up and B.relax in the bar with a nice afternoon drink while you wait. We pride ourselves on good customer service but 10 minutes doesn't give us much time to showcase this. You requested ice water hence the 2 glasses and the back of the building is being completely redecorated as we speak so we would love for you to come back and let us show you.
