Gaylords now rebranded as The Plantation House by Gaylords offers one of Kauai's most beautiful settings for lunch, dinner and happy hour. Located in the historic Kilohana Plantation home, diners are seated around an open-air courtyard with views of the plantation grounds and Mt. Waialeale in the distance. Our kitchen uses only the freshest, seasonal ingredients supporting our local farmers and fishermen. Our 67-acre sustainable farm provides much of the produce and herbs used in our dishes and cocktails. Menu items include starters like fresh Ahi poke, fried brie, fresh seafood, delicious steaks and vegan entrees too. Don't forget about our famous Banana Cream Pie for dessert! Take a walk around the Kilohana grounds, shop in our assorted boutiques, visit the Koloa Rum shop, go on a rum safari adventure or take a ride on the plantation train.

                                                      We love Gaylords. Always great food and service. We had Thanksgiving dinner last year at Gaylords and had an awesome Ono meal, so we booked again this year. Gaylords never disappoints. Our waitress, Davis, was outstanding.

                                                      The Plantation is a lovely place to dine - we were situated in a covered porch that was beautiful and part of the old plantation house dining room. It’s a step back in time - elegant and understated. Anna provided good service although we were surprised that after the initial glass she never poured wine even when she stopped by the table which she did several times. We started off with a Tanqueray martini which was good and generous. We also ordered a bottle of Pino Grigio which was very well restaurant priced and just fine as expected. We were started off with bland “focaccia bread” with mostly balsamic and a little oil in one of those small metal serving cups which I found awkward. A plate would have been better. We shared the vegetarian spring rolls which were very hot, somewhat greasy, and quite ordinary. The Pork Osso Bucco was very tasty with lots of tender meat. A winner there! The accompanying asparagus was properly cooked and well seasoned but the potatoes were forgettable. The 4 large day boat scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious but the accompanying mushroom gnocchi was commercially made, chewier than they should have been with a gluey bland cream sauce with tasteless enoki mushrooms - at least I think that’s what they were. We skipped dessert. There was one “Hawaiian” style dessert with Macadamia nut brittle but the rest were the usual lava cake, crème brûlée, a cheesecake and sorbet and tiramisu. All that said I’m glad we went for the ambience. The prices were modest compared to other places we saw so overall, even with a few food missteps I gave it a solid 4 stars.

                                                      Lelo was amazing. Went above and beyond going over the menu . We visit Kauai every fall and Gaylord’s is always a must . Food is always delicious and staff is always friendly.

                                                      Excited to celebrate a birthday dinner & remember the food, serve & location be be amazing. The place still looks amazing but service was lacking, I feel our sever should honestly pick a different profession, she seemed to be annoyed to be doing her job & the food was majorly disappointing. Not the place I remember but maybe it is better for lunch or just apps & a drink.

                                                      I've always loved this restaurant when I visit Kauai and this visit was just as great as my last visits. The food's terrific, the service is great, the plantation house is wonderful and eating outdoors with that central courtyard and the lawn and trees beyond is wonderful.
