   Have eaten here quite a few times now. Unfortunately the food and service did not live up to today's expectations - I had booked a while ago and mentioned it was for a birthday. We requested water for the table, which came, but there were no glasses! After asking, these arrived. However, we waited an hour for a small flat bread with two dips to share, which at £15 seems over priced. There was a further delay before the main course was served. We all found the lunch to be mediocre and nothing to rave about. It was reasonably busy but sadly no member of staff apologised or explained why there was a long wait. Needless to say, on this occasion, I asked for the service charge to be removed.

   Our favourite restaurant in our local area. As always, an outstanding selection of wines to accompany an eclectic, but interesting menu. Food is top quality and presented well by attentive friendly staff.

   Visited the old forge for a Sunday roast today. Absolutely stunning! Best roast I’ve had in ages. The beef was delicious and the vegetables were to die for! Staff very lovely and friendly. Didn’t wait long to get served. Sat in the courtyard in the sunshine. Was the perfect afternoon. Highly recommended.

   A friendly welcome followed by very good attentive service makes you feel immediately at ease and look forward to the meal ahead. The food is wonderful - I have been a few times over the past few years and it never fails to be an excellent evening.

    We chose to have the Happy Hour Pizza offer with a side salad. They were excellent, we’ve had them before and the quality is consistent. The service was friendly and efficient and we would highly recommend The Old Forge.
