   Usually the quality and quantity of the food at Old England is excellent. However, last night we found the quality not up to what we have experienced previously. Rocket salad that was served with calamari was two sprigs of rocket and nothing else. Barramundi did not have crispy skin. Salad served with barramundi was tiny. Oysters Kilpatrick were soggy. Drinks and ambience was good. We will return for drinks, but not for food.

   On arrival we had to wait to be seated as there were no staff at either reception base. Ordering was straightforward and meals provided promptly. Extensive choice of meals and drinks.

   Nice food but pretty noisy environment. We ordered four meals but the last came about 10 minutes after the others

   Easy to book and manage booking on line. Table was in a quiet recessed area in bistro. Food took a long time to be served possibly because not everyone ordered at once and all meals were served together. Everyone was happy with their meals. Pleasant relaxed time celebrating an anniversary.

   I recommend the Old England Hotel in Heidelberg. The food has never disappointed. It has a great reputation and is clean and comfortable. They also have an outdoor area where you can sit outside. 10/10

   My friend and I both ordered the chicken satay sticks with two serves of steamed rice. The chicken was hot and tasty but I found the rice a little dry. I think it may have been reheated. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.
