Nicely tucked in the midst of Templestowe’s dining district is The Mexican Kitchen which was founded by lovers of Mexican food for lovers of Mexican food.

Our family run business is a home to the local community serving delicious and simple food that is made with love. The tempting array of authentic Mexican dishes is reminiscent of antojitos (literally “little cravings”) from a traditional Mexican street vendor that entices all diners.

Our vision was to develop a menu of Mexican street food dishes designed to share, utilising the quality, freshness and variety of Australian produce while maintaining authenticity of experience and taste.

A fresh and fun evening bite or dinner experience at a great price makes The Mexican Kitchen an exciting addition to an already buzzing food hub in the heart of Templestowe.

    We dined on a night where they initially had no power, so options were limited. We decided to stay and the staff could not have been more pleasant. Food was great and would highly recommend.

    We booked this restaurant for 8 people on Father’s Day and received a booking confirmation. To our surprise, we arrived at this place and it was closed. I called the number and the person on the other line said they are not open for lunch. It was very disappointing for us all as it was impossible for us to find another restaurant for 8 people. They should update their opening times

    The food at Mexican Kitchen was fabulous but they did not have any record of my OpenTable booking. Luckily they could fit us in. Not impressed with this booking service at all.

    The Mexican Kitchen never disappoints, food is always amazing and staff friendly and helpful. My personal favorite Del Mar Buritto is delicious, creamy seafood yum, taco's soft and hard are fabulous as are the nachos and burritos, certainly is a family favorite of ours.

    We consider Mexican Kitchen our new favourite Mexican restaurant in the north east of Melbourne. We have been three times now and each time we can't fault the quality of the food. Generous and very tasty. As take-away is an option we can also take home what we don't finish and I certainly wouldn't want to waste the fabulous food. Prices are on par with many other restaurants. The staff have always been very friendly and efficient. It can tend to get noisy, but we found booking a booth did help dull some of the sound. Overall, a great restaurant.
