An absolutely exquisite meal served with beautifully selected ingredients, all cooked to perfection. The lamb was absolutely divine and the accompanying portions generous. There is an excellent selection of wines to complement each course of the menu. The raspberry trifle was a lovely finish to the perfect meal. Staff are professional, polite, friendly, and attentive to the needs of their guests. I would strongly recommend the Mermaids Inn. An experience that combines an enchanting historical cachet with the perfect dining experience.

A must experience in Rye, mostly for the ambience of every nook and cranny of the restaurant, of which there are many. Don’t expect an amazing culinary experience, though the food isn’t bad. It’s presented quite well but doesn’t live up to the presentation. Servers are wonderful but not very attentive. Overall, a resounding “YES” to do knowing the food isn’t the reason you are going.
