   What a great pub and restaurant. The chef produces top rate cuisine and the bar provides a fantastic selection of whisky. What's not to like !

   Disappointed that main courses came with limited or no vegetables - irritating to have to order eg potatoes as a side. One waitress (Brea) seemed to be doing almost all the work whilst other 3 staff members twiddled about with their hair and gossiped together.

   The service was very chaotic, the staff seemed extremely stressed and running about when the restaurant wasn’t full. The service was not attentive as we have received before on previous occasions. We had to go up to the bar twice to request cutlery to eat our food. One main meal was cold (meat included) when we tried to get the waitress’s attention we were ignored and had to go to the bar to ask for the food to be heated up. Just overall a very average experience, we have eaten here previously and had a good experience but are hesitant to return now.

   Food was lovely and all 5 of us enjoyed both starters and mains. Not great choice of desserts so only one of us had the ice cream dish, but she enjoyed it. I was driving so had non-alcoholic cocktail which was very refreshing. Service was good even though restaurant was very busy. Would definitely return when next in area.

   Unfortunately we did not feel welcome and were rushed. We were 5 minutes late arriving at 17:50 but there is a 15 minute tolerance so we thought that would be okay. The first thing we were told as we went to the table was it was needed back by 19:15. Slow to take drinks and food order. Food was lovely, we just had main and desert as conscious of time, but were not offered any more drinks or coffee and presented with the bill and a reminder that the table was needed at 19:15, it was 19:05. There were many empty tables so a large crowd must have been expected in the next 10 minutes. We left without any acknowledgment despite the team standing behind the bar. We will not be going back, very disappointing.

   Great food which is expertly cooked using fresh ingredients. The selection of ales, wine and of course malt whiskies is impressive. The staff are extremely friendly and very attentive. All-in-all a very enjoyable dining experience

   Fabulous food in a cosy, relaxed setting. The service was prompt without being rushed. The food was that little bit more special without being pretentious. Our whole party thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

    Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived and we were left unattended for longer than we should have been with no apology. We arrived at 8pm for an 8pm booking. Service very slow to get us started but once started it was fine. Good very good but portions far too large do full after our starters.
