   Accommodating with the dog on a busy Sunday night, had an excellent spot in the pub for dinner. Great service both at the bar for a drink and at the table with the staff being comfortable and knowledgable with the food, Well priced, with all drinks and service for a superbly delicious meal. The Marksman is a gem for the area.

   Highly recommended. Lovely food and ambience. Great wines, our host was very professional. The only note, the place must be under staffed cause the service was quite slow. You could see the staff running up and down and do their best, but it looks like they need more people for an impeccable service.

   Great food as always. Particularly liked the crab and gurnard curry plus the beef and barley buns. The range of beers gets wider and better all the time.

   Seats are extremely uncomfortable and the toilets were really smelly! The roast was nice except the meat was very chewy, service was exceptional :-)

   We often look for pubs or restaurants that offer a traditional Sunday roast. The Marksman came on our radar because of its proximity to Columbia Road Flower Market where we sometimes go to buy flowers. The interior has the feel of a London pub (It was a pub originally) but less casual. Our server was excellent, very friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. We went for the set menu, but shared a starter and a pud. The roast beef was perfect, the roast potatoes were fabulous, the Yorkshire pud was spot on, but there was a puree of indiscriminate origin which was too much and fairly tasteless. The starter was a tasty terrine but there was not enough toast. The pud was a rhubarb crumble bakewell tart, which was utterly scrumptious. Although it wasn't cheap it was very good and I would definitley go back to the Marksman.

    A splendid experience. The mussels was soft and in a well balanced sauce, mopped up with treacle bread. Chicken pie to share was fabulous. A good wine list. Efficient and friendly service. Perfect.
